Media frenzy regarding disappearance Chandra Levy is bordering on
lunatic obsession. Last year, when Elian Gonzalez went back to
Cuba, a reporter reported a comment of one Cuban: "I am happy that
we don't have to watch those programs all the time in TV.." a
entertainment hungry cuban, he was tired of watching "those
programs" about Elian all the time in Cuban TV. Here is the discussion about Elian, there is depiction of his heroism, there
is a discussion about his travails in Miami etc etc.
US is sufferring from the same problem now, though it is not
government sponsored.I listen to the news, first news is EU summit
and I think "oh, Chandra craze is over", and then again, here
comes this guy from Modesto,California reporting where the Levy
couple went today etc etc. I understand the pain of Levy couple,
but all these circus of media is too much.USA afterall has more
than one couple whose child is missing. Why harry one couple,huh?
Anyway, Wolf Blitzer show yesterday had this new theorist who
claimed there's a serial killer on the loose in Washington.
Police naturally denied the claim.
If you are going to Washington DC, be careful anyway.
