was thinking of continuing in the original thread; seems like that is not possible. Here is the first part: - http://sajha.com/archives/openthread.cfm?threadid=13295&dsn=sajhaarchive2003 Part II begins here: The loser finally saw his sapanaki raani--the girl he had been searching for all along. But, he knows, winning her heart would be the most difficult thing ever. Last weekend, he remembers, when both--the loser and his sapanaki rani--were under the influence, Rani had mentioned that she liked wine. "What kind of wine?" the loser had asked. "Red" was the answer. That weekend had been depressing. He had asked her if she wanted to dance. She had said she was tired and "not in the college mood yet". Instead, she had agreed to have a chat in a corner. He does not remember what they talked about. He remembers introducing his roommates and at the end, she saying, "I have to leave now, my friends are waiting." He had regretted over drinking too much. As a matter of shame, he had landed up sleeping in one of his friend's room and was surprised when his friend came back and woke him up. The loser had thought it was his own room. "Why don't you go ahead and tell her that you like her", the loser's roommate had suggested him the next day. "I have given her enough signals", the loser had said. "And what if she does not like me? What will happen to all my hope?" The loser knew he was stating the obvious, but he had no choice. The planning for this weekend began on Thursday. The loser and his roommate spent over 110 dollars on alcohol. "We should make this last for the whole semester", both had agreed. Fourty-eight cans of beer, two bottles of rum, a bottle of vodka, and two big bottles of wine certainly looked like a lot. The trunk of the car they had borrowed was almost full. "Looks like a huge party is going on tonight," the storekeeper had said. The storekeeper has stopped checking the loser's id, the loser has been to the store just too often. At 9:30 on Friday--yesterday--the loser gathered enough courage to call his sapanaki rani and ask her if she liked to join him for a drink. She did not refuse. That was a good sign. to be continued... |
