Anysite that seeks emails to be registered to their database and confirmation registration via email means invitation of more junk mail to your email address. Though they are (because of law) required to provide a link to cancel or disconnect registration, hardly it works. Well, I have registered my hotmail address on the very first months of hotmail service innovation, and later, as a new user and because of less resource in internet, I overwhemlingly registered my email address to certain sites that looked interesting and useful for sometime. Wow, I tried to disconnect them, then, I got more. If you try to disconnect your earlier registrations, in fact, you are registering again. Thats a kind of tricks. Though, my experience looks cynical, but, its a fact. I get every day about 50-100 mails in my "junk mail" directory. Thanks to Hotmail's junk mail directory. The junk mails do not start from USA, now a days, some of them even originate from Nepal. So, my suggestion to all those who wish to get some info. on certain things, its better to get free copies, (getting info at the cost of your email registration is not equal to free copy). Its better to avoid those sites, well, registration of IP address should be enough at least for me. I do not wish, sidha sadha manche finally have headache of cleaning 100s of junk mails everyday. Well, some might suggest to use some dummy emails, but, others call it unethical. Still, the job of opening and cleaning such dummy email address will become equally stressful once its about exceeding the capacity of the free email box size. Overall, my suggestion (though passimistic) is not to register your emails, well, IP adress is unavoidable if you click on any link. IP address is not personally that dangerous as your email. Ashu, I did not mean to discount your recommendation, but, just wanted some new comers don't become victim of junk mails. Thanks. Do you Hahoo! GP

Hi GP-ji, I think you have a valid point. One way to avoid junk emails could be to open up a random email account and submit that account as yours to these sites. That way, you can always access the articles on those Web sites, and, if they send you junk emails, then those are sent to your that non-the-usual email account. That said, if you are interested in business and finance, then e-subscribing to the mckinseyquarterly is probably a good idea. oohi ashu
