A lot of hues and cries has been raised on this tour going on schedule but it seems a distant dream for Pakistan locals to see their favorite bowlers bowl in the likes of Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Ganguly, after the tour is set to postpone. Letters are pouring in on the Indian Cricket Board on the security of the players and if anybody are stopping them from making this tour, it seems to be their own family. It is absolutely reasonable to think it that way, and one should definitely be concerned about the safety of the players, but think it this way, Pakistan toured India in '99 when it couldn't have been more threatening from the fundamentalists and war mongers to claim superiority over the rivalry that is almost blood shedding at times. Even the pitch was dugged out deep to stop the match from going ahead. Pakistan won the match and Indian fans gave them a standing ovation which was almost a tearing sight for many that sees the game from the prospective of exciting ties between the two countries, if not for politics at least for cricket and a heart breaker for those who see them as a rivalry in war not as a sport. It is also almost unreasonable for Indian batsman to crave around 24 hour security with security people mushing on their back at all times with machine guns. One thinks of players, jumping around with locals signing autographs and doing much of talking, because to many, they are their favorite heroes. Tendulkar may be disliked because of the hammering he gives to Pakistani bowlers, but to many in Pakistan, he is the hero. The last India toured Pakistan was 1989 and Pakistan thus have sufferred heavy losses due to tour boycott by NewZeland due to a bomb blast in Karachi and game played in neutral venues by Australia and West Indies. Huge expectations for the PCB lies in the India touring Pakistan and between the hottest rivalry in the game of cricket. Slapping the safety concerns and letting the tour go ahead should come as an added bonus for the improving ties of two nations. If nothing else goes right, let cricket do the talking. It should come as a healthy sight to many, when they see the Pakistani and Indian players playing together a fair game of cricket, and to billions of fans around the sub continent and throughout the world, a good and nail biting game of cricket.

It is sad to see fear of losing electoral batale by rulling Indian govt, playing security card to disturb the series schedule and deprive cricket fans of a spicy series ahead. KK

.This is the match, I have been waiting for long long time to happen.Every cricket lover know that this is not just game of cricket but much more than that. And having beaten by Pakistanis in their own home ground last time when they played each other, Indians obviously are under pressure. I am hoping the 17 runs which Indian couldn't make would be completed this time. Yet my bet would be for Pakistan even though I like the Indian team. The pathetic performance against the Aussies at the VB series shows how Indian lacked confidence even though they had big players on their side. I wonder how with the population of 100 crore can't produce 11 good players. And I hate when they say "Cricket is not played but worshipped here". BTW, the U-19 Worldcup has started from today and Nepal is grouped with England, S. Africa and Uganda. Lets hope our boys can bring some good news like they did last time in New Zealand beating Pakistan and Bangladesh. :)

.stoner i agree indian had a great test match against aussies. as far as i have understood, test matches and one-days are completely different. as a cricket lover i believe only test matches can truly test the skill of a player or a team as a whole but coming back to one-dayers its a complete different ball game. its not only the skill but the confidence, nerve and killing instinct which matters. ya indians do look confident when they are playing with zimbabwe, bangladesh or kenya but not when they have waqar or brett lee on the other side.i think along with a good coach they need a good physcologist too who can boost their confidence. having said all this, i like indian team and they are the reason i am so much into cricket. :) "eagerly waiting for ind v pak"

don't know, how many of sajha people follow cricket.....I believe not a whole lot....But some of teenage nepalese kids made nepal really proud by beating South africa, which is well reconize team in cricketing world......Though it was only U -19 world cup game...We shouldn't be very far from getting us reconize at Senior international cricketing world..... These cricker probably achieved, what no nepalese were able achieve before...That is to get nepal reconize to other countries.. I don't know the experience of you guys in this matter but i am sick and tired of people asking " where the hell is nepal". 'HEY' Atleast South Africans now knows where we are... People don't forget to congrat these teenagers, they deserves it.....And don't forget to wish them luck on other games.. Recon

. nepal's dream of entering super league came to an end after SA beat England by one wicket. this is the second time when they had to staisfy with plate championship, in spite of the fact that they had performed well beyond expectation. nepal, england and SA each shared 4 points with 2 wins. its the run rate which mattered at the end. hard luck guys. :(

we did our best best as oys says. our boys can hold their heads high. beating SA was a huge achievement in itself. that is no consolation, but the huge gulf that remained between the cricketing powerhouses and nepal is narrowing by the day, and we can only hope for better luck the next time. let us all keep supporting the team. dummy
