I felt very bad today reading the following news: . http://www.kantipuronline.com/php/pramukh.php#2 -- This news coupled with the news of the murder of one ex-MP is sending ominous signals to all Nepali. That systematic campaign to kill people, whether they are in villages or in towns, have started already. Reminds me much hated Operation Phoenix of Vietnam. Those of you who don't know about this, let me explain a bit. Americans had started campaign to kill vietcongs in villages depending on the information provided to them by their local spies. However, the assassination campaign spiraled out of control. American shooters killed too many people [20-40K] in that opertion. A lot of them, even the American army later agreed in a testimony in US congress, were killed not because they were vietcong, but because local spies reported them as vietcong because of their personal animosity.American leadership, intellegentsia, and army regret that operation deeply now. Please, don't repeat this in Nepal. Sensible people should try to do whatever they could do to stop bloodthirsty people from running RNA. Also, people must warn RNA and Maoist people from carrying out such inhumane acts. We need to tell them, in no uncertain term, that once this war is finished, they will be persecuted. They can't avoid persecution by saying it was 'order' from above. Everyone with blood in their hand will be persecuted sooner or later.Whether they are general or hawaldaar. Even in their 90s. Like Pinochet. They will have to account for what they did. Let this be our Valentine day message. |
