How would you give Anita justice?

I would support anything that does not involve killing. It is a great opportunity for Maoists to do something good by bringing the father of the child to justice. There is no other hope and fear of Maoists could play a key role. That's all. It is unrealistic though to expect good deed from them. Maoists gang rape news in the same page proves it all. But, sometime you wish!

It's a depressing picture.

The Maoists are khattam, of course. But, going by recent newspaper accounts, the jawans of security forces have done even worse when it comes to treating village women well. They too have raped women in villages, and, in most cases, have gone unpunished.

The Royal Nepal Army -- despite having a few enlightened officers here and there -- remains a stodgy institution with a feudal mindset that is embararssingly behind the times when it comes to moving fast with issues related to human rights and communication . Even its Web site is a sorry mess.

Meantime, I think that women's activists (both men and women) in Nepal are fighting
too many battles on too many fronts, thereby spreading themselves thin and
dissipating their energy.

Perhaps the success of activist Anuradha Koirala is due to the fact that she has been concentrating ONLY and ONLY on issues related to trafficked women. Other women activists are doing too many things (usally on donor funds which turn their activism into
a cushy middle-class jaagir), but have -- judging by the results -- failed to make much
of an impact, both legislatively or politically.

I am not sure as to what could be solutions out of this mess in days ahead.

I dont know who this Santosh Ghimire is but whoever he is he must be punished and the lady should be given the justice n the better lives to lead as I guess she is uneducated probably. so I think everone should think about helping up with her life too because I dont think someone wants to destroy two innocent lives for the crime done by the third person.
As far as raping by the maoists and RNAs, thanks ashu u let us know about it,it is not a good thing if RNA soldiers are doing that. they should be punished for that. they are serving the country doesnt meant that they are allowed to do anything they want. but also at the same time we cant judge the whole RNA just by looking at those dumbf__ks. the RNA is fully dedicated to build the peaceful Nepal and all the best to them.
As about women activists are concerned, they put their hand in every things and just cant give justice in a single part. i hope every activists should be field oriented as Anuradha koirala so then at least they can give justice in considerable amount to the people affected by that particular situation
