Soccer players: Got a team? Got skills? Like to compete? Come visit Columbus OH May 29-30 2004 and show it!! Register for the conference and for sports including soccer at: www.naoo.org Tentative plan: 1. NAOO-ANMA will sponsor a competitive soccer tournament open to adults a. Open to men/women (but only 1 tournament) b. Recommend for age 18 or over c. Single elimination tournament - only winning teams advance to next round 2. Prizes: a. 1st place team members (limit 12 prizes) b. 2nd place (first runner up) team members (limit 12 prizes) c. Trophy for 1st place team - keep until next year's conference d. MVP prize (one per team; selected by team captain after the tournament) 3. We will hire 1 referee per game a. Certification preferred 4. Each team must provide: a. Team captain who responds to email b. Team roster of 11 players prior to tournament c. Proof that all team members are registered for NAOO-ANMA convention i. Full convention -or- sports program only ii. NOTE: Full convention registration is strongly encouraged: 1. Soccer schedule will allow you to attend most of the convention events 2. Some meals are included. 3. Only full convention registrants will be able to attend sports awards ceremony. d. Liability Release form - each team member must sign one. e. 2 experienced line judge volunteers i. Must serve in other team's games according to the schedule. f. Equipment: Each team must bring i. At least 1 line judge's flag (2 preferred) ii. Your own regulation soccer balls g. T-shirts same color for all team members (suggest bringing 2 different colors) i. Referee will decide which colors the teams should wear to be able to easily distinguish between the teams. 5. Game schedule (tentative) a. Elimination rounds Saturday 11 AM - 6 PM b. Final Game Sunday 9:45 AM c. All games are 2 x 45 minute half periods plus a halftime break. d. You will be able to attend most of the convention events as well. |
