Hello everybody!

I would like to get your suggestions on different wedding/reception halls in Kathmandu. I am sure lots of you have been thru this in your own wedding. Could you please list some places and pros and cons of them? I'd be so grateful!!

Contact the local "Valley Newars." They have connections and hook you up for a bargain price.

Send me an email, and, if you wish, I will put you in touch with somebody whose career in Kathmandu is, well, wedding planning.

BTW, wherever you host the reception, make sure that the food is good. It doesn't have to be expensive or fancy, just simple and delicious.

I don't know about others. But, I, for one, am sick and tired of eating the same old type of food in ALMOST all weddings that I've been to in the last two years..

Then again, Nepali wedding cuisine is slightly better that Nepali airline cuisine.

MAAYA,
Bihe ma tadak-bhadak dekhaunu ramro hoena. Reception-siception garda paisa dehrai jancha- my honest suggestion to you is - Go for GANDHARVA BIBAHA (in case you are the groom or bride hai)- keta le keti lai mala lagaune and vice-versa- 2 minute ma khel pani khatam na ta paisa nai hajjam. After a quickie marriage ceremony, you can feed old people, lepers, beggers and street children - mito, mito khana. At the end, tapai pani kushi, garib janata pani kushi, bhagwan pani khushi.
