I desperately need some information from the National Living Standard Survey 1996. Specifically, I need the data on average family income in all the 75 districts. I was thinking of getting the survey data which, I have understood, is at the household level and merging that to get the district average. The problem is: I could not find the results of the survey anywhere. I emailed a few people at the CBS asking them how I can get/buy the data, but they have not responded. Does anybody know where ELSE I can find the data? Or, does anyone have an access to the data? I will be eternally grateful if you can help me with this. With the deadline for my paper coming close, I am getting restless/nervous. If you have the CD and can lend/sell it to me, I will be happy to pay you--whatever is the cost. I understand that the CBS possess the copyright and it is illegal to lend/borrow the Living Standard Survey data, but I am in the US right now--which means I can not go to the CBS myself--and have very little choice, especially with the CBS people not responding to my questions. Thank you. |

Thanks, Crusader, for the response. Actually, I had visited the Planning Commission's site before, but could not find info on the district level average household income. There is a report by the CBS, but it does not have info on the income. M.P. |

Neural ji, at least I don't make false promises to my gurudevs which are beyond my access/resources. When you can't make up when the term paper is due, you may make a good excuse. But, guru ain't going to give you A+. I also don't come to public message boards seeking 'har guhar' for my homeworks and termpapers. I also don't give a false promise to my girl friend by saying like "aakas ko tara khasali timi lai har banai diunla". Having said all these, I am planned and moving ahead per my plan. Suggesting the gentleman to look into ADB/WB sites is another joke of the day. FYI, ADB/WB care less about average income of a household in Bajura or Doti or Arghakhanchi in their database. Why don't you provide the exact url link instead of saying look here and there!! |
