Why haven't any Nepali PM's or MP's ever written a book? Many US presidents and secretaries have written at least their memoirs. If these men are the intellectuals or the nation, what does not having ever written a scholarly thesis say about their ability to promote understanding of Nepali politics. Does the concept of 'publish or perish' even exist in the universities here?

Maybe it is because only 40% of the population can read.

Maybe it is because they will have to reveal all the coruption they engaged in during their tenure in office. They are not so eager to confess. Their publishers know the books are full of lies and will not publish a book of falsehoods.
