Before people start analyzing Biswo's story, some background information: I posted the "testing" message two minutes ago, when it was 4:52 am EST. The Sajha times next to the date showed 1:57 am. Biswo's last posting was made about an hour before my test-post. Doing the math, Biswo made his posting at around 3:50 am EST. Something going on there. Having given the background, let me post some exerpts from the story here (I have not read it. I will post some of the sentences that caught my eyes): "Mera nayanputle tinko stighna cheharaamaa nirlajja herirahadaa ma bhitra bhawanaa haru....athaaha begmaa sirjit hudai bagdai thiye." "haami eutai kakchyaa tara beglai section maa padhne raichhau." If I were to skim through the story like I do for most of my readings, I would jump to a conclusion saying, "Somebody is in deep love here." But that would be unfair to Biswo (if the story is NOT a love story, that is). So I am going to print out the story and save it in my summer-reading file. oops. We're like in a mutual admirer's club.But, I value nsshrestha's opinions, because he belongs to the really good writers club of Nepal. For others: those sentences',quoted by ns, are not mine. I didn't mean to write a love story either. In fact, there are only two encounters with a girl in the fiction. But somehow it ends up being another of FOSLA theme fictions.This fiction is not my autobiography. I choose locations that are very familiar with me so that I have a detailed knowledge of what I am writing. I was writing about a disadvantaged person's vicissitude of fortune. |

Govin: Please send me an email when you are free. I have heard of an effort to create our alumni association(assuming you went to Nepal Highschool) in Tandi. We may probably open USA chapter sometimes in the future. At least, theoretically, that is a possibility: we have quite a few people here. |
