I just nominated my POY. I definitely encourage those who concur with this to give it a serious thought. My choice:

All Those Unarmed Nepalese Who Were Killed Last Year Or Are Still Missing.

It is fitting tribute to the likes of Ganesh Chiluwal, Hem Narayan Yadav and all others known/unknowns whose death jolted us, whose death reminded us how lucky we are to be alive. It is also going to be a message to those who are kept in our jails/barracks/makeshift camps and are considered 'missing' . Our message to them is keep up your hope, we know you are there, we will hold this regime accountable in future if something untowards happens to you, we root for you and your right to defend yourself in the court and we believe you are innocent until proven guilty!

Yes, it is called 'person' of the year. But collectively they deserve to be recognized in some way.

My nomination for the POY goes to King Gyanendra. He should be the Person of the Year. In every aspect, he was dominant in Nepal in the year 2060. He went to remote parts of the country, shaked hands with Sarva sadharan, and tried to share their pain.

Yes, he is firm in his decision to sack the elected government....He has handeled all the Street Shows against him in a good manner. But ultimately, he should return the power to the People....

His recent TIME Magazine interview was the most talked about in nepali society.....

My vote for Nepal's Person of the Year goes to a courageus group of Nepali women called "Charitrahin Cheli". Because they provoke themself...They are thinking for the upliftment of Neapli women...this is positive...but their way is a bit vulger..that's negative...But they should be the Person of the Year....they defied the traditional way of thinking in Nepal...They created a public debate on woman issues....They also defied the so called barriers created by this society...
