I just learned that Nepali Ambassador to the US Jaya Pratap Rana passed away earlier this week. My condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues in Nepal and abroad.

harey Shiva! Nepal lost yet another great diplomat. JP R was educated at the Fletcher School of Law and diplomacy and started his career as a section officer at the foreign ministry. My condolences too, to the family and friends of one of the finest diplomats of Nepal. Freak

Condolences to Samjana diju, Robin and Sabindai (Paras' ADC) for the loss of their father and King Gyanenda for the loss of his dear friend (Gyanendra made Jaya Pratap Rana head of king mahendra prakriti trust; sent him as Nepalese representative to the UN and several other different foreign missions and ...............).

According to the embassy receptionist, a condolence book is open for friends and wellwishers at the family's residence tomorrow from 11:00am until 4:00pm. Please contact the embassy for details. While I do not recall ever meeting him personally, I know for a fact that he was personally there for my family in our time of need, which I greatly appreciated.

My condolences to Reenu Auntie, Samjhana dijju, Robin and Sabin and their children. JP Rana was indeed one of the finest diplomats of Nepal and he served his country well in his more than 30 years at MFA.
