I was juz wondering… is India really a Hindu country as they are supposed to be or are they juz CLAIMING to be a Hindu country? I'm not referring to all the Indians and don’t have anything against them but still I'm juz wondering… Why I ask this is that recently, while I was trying to cook a meal… (yeah urs truly can't cook a half decent meal… though, I am improving) and I was flipping thru an Indian recipe book… and I came across a recipe for BEEF curry… in an Indian recipe??? in fact, there were a few other beef recipes in the book.. can't rem em though.. Isn;t that a sin in Hindu terms?? and juz yesterday, I was watching a TV programme (in the UK) and there was this advertisement about selling Beef curry in a jar and the makers of that product were Indians… what the heck???

I am a Hindu (though not a devoted one)… and if I can get the facts straight, Hindus worship the cow… which is where beef comes from…(obviously… duh!!!) and Hindus ain;t supposed to eat beef right? So, why beef curry... made in India??
Even if these Indian's ain't Hindu, shouldn’t they at least be expected to respect their country's religion? Or has Hinduism really reached a lowest peak in India… Maybe what they say is really true… Nepal is the only true Hindu country… Comments any1??

EdHunter..for your information, India never claimed to be a Hindu nation. the formation of republic of India is based on a secular identity unlike Nepal. India has more Christian then the whole population of Nepal. Most part of Indian history has been Muslimsnepal is not a

I guess East COast gal pretty much summerized the seemingly controversial issue. Engima.. is correct to. India dosesn't consider itself as a human country. no wonder it has more muslims than the whole of Pakistan.

By the way I heard Nepal is the only the HINDU kingdom in the world. I really do not believe this labelling to be true because I see Hindu and Buddhist in equal proportions.

....well... that was just a thought and just me.
