This thread is for expressing condolences to the families and friends of all the innocent civilians, armymen and the "maoists" who have lost their lives to protect the idiots in Kathmandu--the King and his aides, and the political leaders--and the idiots devising their policies from India--the Maoist leaders.

- Families and friends of the two security men killed in the blast in Makwanpur district on March 19 ( - http://www.kantipuronline.com/php/kolnews.php?&nid=9217 )

- Families and friends of the seven "rebels" killed in Ratemata, Taksapu VDC of Dhading. ( - http://www.kantipuronline.com/php/kolnews.php?&nid=9233)

- Family and friends of Ganesh Syangtang, who was killed at Hetauda Municipality-9 after a team of security personnel randomly opened fire at him on March 17. He used to crush stones in the banks of kukhureni river. ( - http://www.kantipuronline.com/php/kolnews.php?&nid=9238)

- Family and friends of National Investigation Office intelligence officer Bharat Khadka who was shot dead by the Maoists at Parbangi Chowk of Bharatpur on March 19. (- http://www.kantipuronline.com/php/kolnews.php?&nid=9236)

- Families and friends of four "Maoists" who were killed by the security forces in Dang on March 18. (- http://www.kantipuronline.com/php/kolnews.php?&nid=9193)

- Families and friends of Kamaiyas and staffers of the Royal Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve who died on March 17 because of a Maoist-led ambush in Mahendranagar. (- http://www.kantipuronline.com/php/kolnews.php?&nid=9102)

- Family and friends of Nilam Bahadur Pokharel who was shot when he was unarmed, Fidim, Panchthar districe, March 15. (- http://www.kantipuronline.com/php/kolnews.php?&nid=9045)

- Families and friends of four "suspected Maoists" who were killed by the security forces in Padanaha and Baniyabhar VDC in Bardia the same day. ( - http://www.kantipuronline.com/php/kolnews.php?&nid=9045)

These are some of the deaths that came to the press in the second half of this month. To me, these lives are as important as the lives of UML ex-MP Hem Narayan Yadav, ex-ambassador Jaya Pratap Rana, or Krisna Sen.

Being from an economically low class myself, I do not afford to publish condolences messages in papers( not even in Nepalipost). But my heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of all these people who have deaths have gone unnoticed: low rank army men, innocent civilians, disables like Ganesh Syangtang, low rank maoists (who probably do not even understand that they are illusioned), and those who were not Maoists, but were "suspected" to be one.*

* A person from Mareng VDC in Argkhanchi district--the first person to come to Kathmandu from my village for college--now works as a senior staff in Gorkhapatra. He was telling me that when he went to a remote area in Rolpa to teach right after SLC, children ran away from him because he was wearing pants and nobody there did. Until I was 9 or so, I never got near my uncle who used to be a policeman; the dress was just too scary. As I think of these "suspected" Maoists and the innocents who run away when they see the army men are still in that time!

It surprises me that King G, after visiting the west and "understanding" the problems of the people came to Kathmandu and issued a 10-point directive for the development of that region. But what has his government done to encourage people to cooperate with the security forces? Certainly we do not afford to launch helicopters that go around dropping pamphlets with security instructions--such as "if you see people in army dress, do not run"--but I am sure something CAN be done. But then, our king bhaktas in Kathmandu must be thinking, "Why waste money there. Let's have another felicitation program instead. Or may be sarkaar wants some more cars? Let's ask-baksyosh him."

As I think of these "suspected" Maoists and the innocents who run away when they see the army men, I wonder if these are some people still in that time!

My heartfelt condolences too for the people who fritter from thousand of miles away and continue to blame OTHERS, and who are living in guilt for not being able to anything for the country!!

My special condolences to people who in honour signed the paperwork in "siksha mantralaya" that they would return and serve in country for next five years and are the very people who whine about honor and corruption in nepal :)

and my very very speical condolences to brain drained people who believe that the policy they learn in their economy class about capitalism can ACTUALLY BE APPLIED TO A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY LIKE OURS!!
BRAVO BRAVO!!!
