As some of us know, INLS had organized a ghazal workshop in GMU, Virginia on March 14. It was a memorable experience for me to interact with Nepali ghazal enthusiasts there.

There were other interesting programs too. Pustak bimochan and a separately organized election of Nepalese Youth Organiation (NYO) based in DC.

A very happy news to share is that one of our Sajhaites and extremely brilliant man Shambhu Man Sainju has been elected for the president of NYO. He is a man who dares to dream, follows his dream and inspires all. I was blown away by his ambitious plan for NYO. I wish we have a chance to hear from himself. I have no doubt at all that he will succeed to convert this almost obscure organization into a globally networked organization like INLS. His second plan is so ambitious that you may not believe if you hear from me. I will wait for him to share that with us.

Now to the purpose of this thread. In a small workshop, participants presented their shers to the following beginning of a ghazal. Some were extremely good shers, albeit not metered well.

I call upon the participants of that workshop as well as ghazal loving Sajhaites to compose more shers to it and launch the third Ghazal Musha'ira in Sajha.

Just a reminder of the rule of meter (because that seems to be the one ignored by most of new Sahyars)

Each line should have 16 syllables in total, preferably with a pause in the middle !!!!!

Thank you Nepe ji.

I wanted to wait until our website is live. Now that it is live, it still lacks lot of information. We are refining our site and we will make everything availabe on our website. But when you get a chance, please visit NYO

The NYO, Nepalese Youth Organization has been around for quite some times now but for the past few years it has not played any effective role in our community.

My belief is that everyone can make contribution to some capacity. And we outta do just that to the best of our ability so that our generations to come will have better opportunities. Sarah Jessica Parker once said, "The biggest Challenge is to be better than the opportunities." and there is so much truth into it.

I think we have great opportunities. We outta be able to seize them. Believe me it is not that easy. I do have a great network of people and they do provide me abundant resources. Many of them will come as our NYO Advisers (mostly Americans) and some will as honorary Advisers. These group of people consists of CEOs, NBA Player, Tennis Star, First Lady (State), Chief of government agency, Former US Ambassador to Nepal and Fund Raising experts. Profile of these folks will be posted later on our website.

Among the many of our goals, the two of them are to raise mega-millions (I proposed 10 million dollars +) to run a self sustained exucational and health institutions in Nepal and the second one is to expand our youth organization through out the world. So that we can form a grass root of Nepalese youth to bring social change and cultural revolution among ourselves and in our country at large.

A team has already been formed. We have a very talented group of people and they are all exceptionally intelligent and deligent. We welcome more people to join our crusade.

We will post all of our activities on our website shortly. Please visit our site later for further info. Please feel free to contact me via email or phone, should you have any questions.
