Have you experienced the difficulties that people face when they move to a different country or culture? I had to struggle a lot when iI came to America, due to the cultureal divergence between my mother county and America. I had to adjust to certain stystems sucha as a new school, new type of sports when I never heard of before, and types of holidays I never experienced in my country. I had never seen so many students at the same time before. When I enter the school building. I saw different types of people in the hallway. I categorized them into different groups such as newrds, freaks, and famous. Nerds were friendly to me, as they always are. Freaks and famous were up to their own usual things such as trying to look cool and ty not to do anything that will embarrass them. Of course, there were few misfits who dont fall to any of the categories. Being new in the school, I was feeling different from otheres as if I am from Mars. I finally managed to find my class. The class was different from my previous experience. It was big and crowded. Since it was the first day, we were supposed to introduce ourselves. It was my trun and I was feeling awkward because I had different name and accent from others. Everybody was amazed after hearing my name, but no one ridicule me. The first day of my school was a memorable experience. I have always been a big fan of soccer. In fact I was a soccer player from my scholl back in my home country. Since I move to Americfa i had changed my sport taste to basketball because they did not had any soccer team in my new school. At sirst I did not even knew what besketball really is. I was totally ignorant of the rules and basic clue of the basketball. MOst importantly I did not even knew how to bounce the ball. I was trying to learn how to play basketball with my friends and teache from Physical Education class. Eventually, I became the part of basketball and started playing with my teammates. Today, I spend most of my time whether playing besketball with friedns in park or watching NBA. When I was back in my country, we used to celbrate holidays like Dashain, Tihar and many others during a year. We also used to celebrate CHirstmas and New Year holidays. After I moved to America, I had three-day holidays in the end of NOvermber. I had no clue what the holidays were for. I was in a grocery where I saw majority of people buying turky. After that sence I was so curious that I went to see a friend of mine. I was amazed to see his relatives, family and friends at his houst. I asked him what's the occasion? He briefly esplained to me that holiday was fro Thanksgiving Day. It is related to American HIstory, so all the American celebrate this day. I also got the answer why everyone was buying turkey at the grocery store. The most part of the Thanks giving Day is turkey. He asked me to join the party at his house and I couldnot refuse after seeing all that. They had barbequed turky as well a variety of wine fo the guest. Atteingding the party at my friend's house was an educating experience to know why and how people celebrate Thanksgiving Day. Obviously, when a person moves to another country or culture from their own they will have to face different types of new experience. In a new culture, we have to adjust in certain areas because of the difference between town countires. A different school from my own was a memorable experience. CHange of taste into new type of sport and knowledge about the holiday of different culure was educationally helfull fo me to adjust myself in new land. the end
