Last year, about the same time, we had a major Sajha get together in New York City. It was very fun and successful. This year, it may be little earlier for this, but let's do one more Sajha get together on April 23-24-25 weekend.
Let's hear your opinion and decide the place.

Please in your response, please mention what place is convenient for you. Until now, we have been thinking that Boston or any neighbouring state will be the venue for the extravaganza.

I believe for any meaningful get together, hosts play a important role or else its all mumbo jumbo, as we all have characteristics of putting load on others :)
I personally think NYC get together was a success because of the wonderful ,amicable and most importantly ORGANIZED hosts like Poonte dai, Gintang dai and Czar dai :).
Having said all that, April is simply brutal for me especially the 23-24-25th :(. Have fun nevertheless!

Oys Chill,
I simply talked to San before I posted this thread. Yes, nice point... hosts play important role in organizing any get together like this. Well, I am pretty sure there will be a couple of hosts, including myself, in doing this great work. Well, the goal of this get together is to have fun and talk about any other issues we may have. About the date, May is also a good time since most of you will be done with your finals. However, let's stick with 23-24-25 weekend for now and see what other people respond.

Rusty bro! Last year it was in the first week of september (i.e., end of summer, not the beggining).
aight, gotta run now.
Count me in if you guys decide to get together. I wanna get TOgetHER too ;)

I vote for procelina, but with a littlle twist; Shaken not stirred. Sajha gathering in land of Fat bottom girls, double decker bus and red telephone booth. All right I will chip in Peirce Brosnan 007 for the ladies!!
Summer sounds good? might be able to get free pass if 1974 AD turn up for my dear Sajhaites. (Rumours for now)
Momo party and Kite flying contest in Hyde Park.... Capital!!

I think we should have different chapters of sajha (local, regional, nationat...etc) That way we can have gatherings all around the world:-)

I wanna come to the Sajha gathering too. Can it be anytime after the finals i.e. after the first week of May???????
Its been 4 months that I have begun coming to this site and feel sooooo confortable here, so its only natural that I be there in the Gathering too.
Looking forward to it. As for the place, any place on US is fine with me as long as there are motels around.

Meera meera meera harey shiva! motels ko chinta? I'm sure the hosts will be hospitable enough to accomodate everyone like we did last time :). Except...the COUCH IS MINE :)!!

Porcelina, maybe you should fund raise and ask the webmaster (UDAY, the self proclaimed one to) to match yor fund ;)..and please bring some coins from czech republic :)

From the experience of being one of the organizers from last year's extravaganza in NY, I say April 24th ko weekend is tooooo early! Especially for people travelling from afar, they will need ample time to plan for the trip. Furthermore, I don't think it will be a good idea to have it before the finals are over for most people.
With the two other wonderful hosts in NY from last year gone, I am afraid I won't be able to provide sleeping spaces for 20+ Sajhaites in my apartment alone this time around -- and I am sure people would rather have it at a different location too this year -- so, NY is effectively out for me. Unless, of course, there is a very high popular demand, AND new volunteers to host the guests.
I can almost promise to be at the gathering if it's during the summer and it's in the North East. Elsewhere, I will seriously contemplate. :)
As for our friends from across the pond, I will personally attend to your fullest satisfaction of having made the trip if you can. VISA ko baare bichaar garyo bhane chaai disaa aunchha! :p

I agree with you all. April is too early; considering that, let's do it in May or June so that all of us are done with our finals. Venue and exact date will be decided and posted to you. Biswo has a good suggestion too. Sajha gathering in Arizona:)

Why can't we have Sajha gathering in some other states ??? Boston has way too many nepalis and they all meet each other often at parties so it's like Sajha gathering for them all the time. Last year it was in New York so why not California now ??? or some other states close by ???
How about after the finals. May be end of May or early June. People won't have anything to worry about and they can just party all night long.
Just a suggestion. I won't be able to attend anyway so you guys have fun.

If you are thinking about doing it in May, why not push it to May 29-30. Memorial Day Weekend in Columbus, Ohio. We are hosting ANMA Convention at that time. So there will be soccer, volleyball and table tennis tournaments as well.
