I have noticed that you are into photography..I have always wanted to take some good ..quality pics...esp BLACK & WHITE..artistic..ones this summer I am planning to to buy a good photography camera..with affordable lens and start taking some weird pics..lol what abt you? do u do blk and white stuffs? |

I just sold off my Sony DSC F717.I will b getting Sony DSC F828 tommorrow and plan to buy manual SLR camera. Casey00, I think u r an accomplice photographer,correct me if I am wrong.Noramlly people would start off with colour, but you wrote that ur interest is in black n white. The subtle increase in numbers of any group produces subgroups: it’s a given fact. Rai,, Gurung, Tamang , Bhaun, Chettry , Newar and the like of sub groups in our community are also of same result. This sub division of group since the history had added cultural diversification to our Nepali society as a result several norms and values are created, authentication and validation of such norm and belief has taken many different modification in variety of ways as the generation goes by. The people who are involved in preserving such tradition, I have a sincere respect for them. The whole idea of division of groups into subgroups into other super groups is so well structured to keep the balance but often times this leads also some sort of hostile repercussion among the people who belong to other groups, for example the discordant feeling between rai and gurung in the community of boulder. I was discomposed to hear that fight erupted in a soccer match between rai and gurung when rai by accidentally or purposely (that I don’t know) stroke on one of the gurung’s leg. Isn’t that something when an outsider like me concludes that it was a foolish act of morons? Well with due respect to the event organizer and hope it turns out to be good event, I hope something stupid like the mentioned would not take place in an event like that. Good luck Discomfit |

Even in Singapore there is this jat issue.It is a known fact that if you belong to certain "jat" your prospect of promotion to higher level is better,say if u belong to Rai or libmu clan. Discomfit ji let me make something clear to you. First of all there is nothing going on between RAIs and Gurungs in Boulder, I know coz I live here and I'm RAI too. ANother thing is Rai and Gurung get along very well, atleast here in Boulder. Many Gurungs are helping us (RAIs) to make this show successful. I don't know where you heard it but it's worng, not trying to attack you. on ANA 2003 Denver there was an incident between Gurungs from Boulder and guys from other states on soccer field but that was almost 10 months ago and it wasn't between Rai and Gurung, just 2 different soccer team from different states. Anyway I'm we're trying to promot our culture and let people know a little more about RAIs. Hopefully people will appericiate what we're trying to do. ReKha aka. Rez |

Discomfit, let me tell you this, you cannot judge other people based on rumor. Importantly, this sentence you wrote, “……concludes that it was a foolish act of morons?” is completely out of line, offensive and negative. You don’t even know them so why the hell you go off calling them names. You should think before you write. Those kinds of incidents, if there was one, happen all the time in any groups. Those kinds of incidents are insignificant. usually those kinds of incidents happen between two individuals, and that does not include the whole ethnic group. it’s your right that you can write whatever you want, but if you write these kinds of nonsense you will be making lots of people mad. In my opinion, ethnic gatherings are rejuvenating. It’s all about identity and preserving the culture. |

Shit happens nothing wrong with that’s. I apologize if it had offended to any one, it was not mere my intention to pin point any one but to comment on what might happen later. I have seen many of such incidents happened, in so many other different groups too, I spoke up when the context came up ,nothing wrong with that. Mr./Miss edge please be patient and calm down to digest some critics whether it be negative or positive And rekha jee Please read carefully that I was not trying to put any dint to discourage the event but I said I’d respect the event and even appreciate it!! The altercation in Denver wasn't about any ethnic based issues? It was simply an attack by some frustrated losers who couldn't play soccer with a kindergarteners if their lives depended on it! Minnesota was beating the pants out of them and they got violent ... just like those Maoists and so called "democratic" forces in Nepal. BB |

i've been to boulder and lived there for about a week....prolly didn't get to meet very many nice Nepali back then....anyway, i'm happy livin' in a small town. i hate to go to big cities and see my brothers washing dishes and working thier azz of in a hope to make some papers from already established other Nepali and Indian... brothers .... sorry REkha, it' snot you.. it's my personal thing.. ya boulder is beautiful.. take care... |
