OMG, how good is this guy. He just scored 400 not out in test series vs england, breaking old 380 by matthew hayden. If i were him i wouldnt decleare the inning right after 400, i would give it my all on hitting 4s and 6's, not matter i get out. I dunno why he decleare the innings. Although 750+ runs is pretty damn good score as a team.

GReatttttttttttttt Lara is the BLAck pearl of Cricket. oh....... Oh..... yeah I surely agree he shouldn't have declared the innings. Yet, that must be because he is more interested in the team's win. 750+run is a decent score and one of the highest ever. He had to give the opponents to bat in hope of balling them out so that his team can win. Great day for cricket. GO LAra go Jai Nepal

everyone said that west indies would suffer the first whitewash in their home soil......brian lara was heavily scrunitized not only for his failures with the willow but also for not being able to combine 11 players as a team and motivate them enough to atleast put up a fight against the brits. lara always looks vulnerable when he is due for a big score...and he did it today....when hayden broke his record of 375, who would have thought that anyone would set up an individual score higher than 380.....well, to be honest, i didn't....there wouldn't be a bigger achievement for lara than resurrecting his position in world cricket and snatching back the record that he held for a long time..... lara has always been a player to watch out for in world cricket....lara is playing for the pride, he doesn't want to give up the fight against vaughan's men...but i must also acknowledge the way england has played throughout the series.......harminson is the find of the series.....and it was inevitable that the series in west indies would be dominated by the faster men but the spearheads from west indies let everyone down......they still haven't been able to fill in the boots of the likes of marshall, walsh and ambrose.....i am not saying that there would players who could perform at that level which is set of those legendary bowlers but then west indies was believed the have a repertoire of fast and lethal bowlers...they had had the reputation of knocking the helmets out of the batsman head...... but anyways, with so much of trauma within the west indies camp after the disappointing loss in the last 3 test matches, i guess west indies could play for their pride and will defintely like to see the same spirit in other men like sarwan, gayle, jacobs and hinds. i love the game and its a pity that i am in united states where i can't watch the game.....yes, the option of pay per view is available but after coming here, i don't think i will be able to devote so much of my time to watch cricket....but i do make it a point to follow the news and the happenings in world cricket...... Peace

What a cricketer Lara is. After having been in so much controversy, and his side performing as bad as they have ever done before, it is a huge fightback by a great player. He showed a lot of character, after his side's recent faltering and came out strong. That is what great cricketers are made up. When going gets tough, what they do?? They come out silencing the critics all at once with a innings of brilliance. Today is yet another celebration at the carribean and it was Lara again, venue, the same, opponent the same only that it was 10 years after his record performance. This will give him huge confidence. I liked Ramnaresh Sarwan doing second fiddle to Lara, where he would easily have been bogged down to be aggressive. He showed a lot of guts in accompanying Lara and this shows signs of maturity and a bright future for the Windies side. I hope Lara's innings will lift up his team mates and look ahead to the series ahead. I don't believe that declaring the innings immediately after 400 was a bad thing to do. Lara had already hinted that he was going to declare at score around 750 not giving England any chance to make a fightback, draw would be the only way round. I mean, how many times does a cricketer gets to make 400 in a one day innings? He was so close to it previously, he lost it. He got there again, he made it. All credits to him.

.Usually batsman does not go for hitting 6 or 4 when they are about to reach century or double century or triple. Lara, when he reached 374, it was a SIX by him straight into the crowd and that shot equalled the record (with Hayden). Further, there was another boundary to break the record and he reached from 380 to 384. 50 (61) 100 (131) 150 (199) 200 (260) 250 (323) 300 (404) 350 (494) 384 (546) 400 (582) in more than 12 hrs, hitting 43*4 and four sixes It does not take even a year for Lara who regains his world record. Wat a coincidence!!!!! It was the same ground where he hit a then record 375, also against England. Regarding declaring the Ist innig after he reached 400, i also give eye to eye to Krishna. Cuz, it was aldy the third day and the score was so huge one. And, Lara wants the result from this game, "NOT only DRAW" as it happened last time in '94. AND MORE, it's not like RAHUL DRAVID, who declared the inning when TENDULKAR was just 6 runs to go for 200. Lara - the great, the great lefty, a stylish batsman, the talented of all !!! ---------------------------- Now, i will be concentrating on the third test b/n Ind and Pak. Ind won toss, elect to field. Series 1-1. This one the decider :)))
