. dude try watching "pulp fiction". you would have an idea what kind of director QT is. honestly, if you ask me whats in the story of kill bill, i would say there is nothing new.the story line is similar to any bollywood masala movie. its the presentation which makes the movie different. the best part of the movie is the music which keeps you cool even you are watching one of the most bloodiest scene ever shot on screen. this movie certainly rocks. kudos to QT surprisingly, i have noticed, girls have liked this movie more than guys even though its outrageously violent. any connections ???? :D |

It started with... Bang bang, he shot me down Bang bang, I hit the ground Bang bang, that aweful sound Bang bang, my baby shot me down!! and after killing/miming half of her enemies in Kill Bill vol. one, Bride (Uma Thurman) announces in one of the teasers to Kill Bill vol. 2 "I've killed the helluva lot of people to get to this point. I went on with the movie advertise was refered to as a roaring rampage of revenge. I roared, and I rampaged and I've got bloody satisfaction. And when I arrive at my destination, I'm gonna KILL BILL..." and I wanna watch her kill Bill (Pure kutta maut). ;) Waiting for friday afternoon! ;) Those who wanna watch Kill Bill should remember that this movie is all about presentation, great visuals, mind blowing soundtrack and of course QT's screenplay and direction... It's all about touch of a genius :P... and yeah, also QT's fascination for blood/gore (this one is bit more bloodier than his previous movies :P so hold your heart) and martial arts (He is responsible for releasing many chinese/japanese martial arts movies in the american market -- including Iron Monkey -- so hold your breath).... Bride is gonna kill Bill this time, and I am gonna watch her swinging her sword in vengence! Come Friday!! Yahooo!!! (Just wondering, why did they show BILL in the Teasers? QT should have hidden Bill like he did in the vol. one... Oh well) |

loved Vol 1 and waiting for Vol 2 to come out... it was a tribute to japanese anime porcelina.. .thats why blood sprouting off everywhere... not very difficult visual effects I would think... even though red paint sight of excessive blood does make one feel queasy... the good part's none of it looks too real.... purrrrfect :) |

Ohhhha!! Finally watched it!! Whatta movie myaaaan!!! I don't wanna give away anything about the Vol. 2, but just to give you the hint :P... if the first part was tribute to the 70's B-grade oriental masaaledaar martial art movies, the second half is A grade Tarantino movie with great characters, performance, visualisation, dialogue, soundtrack and above all -- screenplay. I never felt so uneasy like I did while watching this movie -- uneasy because you never know when QT surprises you... and boy, he did surprise me one too many times... Awesome movie... Nobody would have been able to execute a convincing and one of the most important dialoguebaaji in the midst of sword fight between Elle (the one eye) and the Bride -- Bride asks Elle "so what exactly happened to your eye"... and Elle tells us... and the whole scene go with the flow. QT excels in those scenes and the the movie is full of them. And Bill is one of the coolest ones. He is amazing... at one point he explains the Bride why Superman is better than other super heros (Yeah baby Superman). That entire explanation is the part of the conversation. :) A MUST SEE movie -- don't expect it to be something like the first part -- it's very different than the first part! :) ooops... did I tell you that? LOL And they showed the preview of Jet Li's The HERO.... QT is presenting that movie re... The Hero is one of the movies I am dying to watch... :) well ... sorta ... after Spiderman probably! ;) |

. finally watched it, had to wait for 2 weeks for the release. wow wow wow what can i say about the movie. QT did it again. if first movie was about blood bath and presentation then this one goes for the dialouges. At the end of the movie, i somehow started liking the character Bill (wonderfully portrayed by david carradine). uma thurman looks ravishing as usual. the conversation between kiddo and bill were the best part of the movie and so was with the chinese kung fu master. one of the most disturbing and spine chilling scene of te movie was when she was buried alive. man, i really felt uncomfortable even though i knew somehow she would come out of it. that just proves how well it was directed.budd was great too. i expected some fight but that would have made movie longer. the pregnancy test and fight was hilarious(typical QT style). i think david would get some nominations for his potryal of bill. end line: simply loved it what do ya guys think about the movie? :| |

This movie sucked big time. It was kinda QT style, you know with the time periods moving back n forth. I thought David Carradine was alright (star of the series Kung-Fu)...i especially liked the cameo by the Master (Gordon Liu)...who is the star of many famous 70's kung fu flix like Wu Tang vs Shaolin and Enter the 36 Chambers aka Master Killer (which rap group Wu Tang Clan took samples from). But overall it was too slow, though that Black Mamba scene is pretty intense. For a quentin tarentino fan this movie was ok, for kung fu fans it was ok. Go watch Four Rooms by Quentin Tarentino, now that's weird. *practices 5 step heart punch* -jb |

Four Rooms? Hmmm... I've watched that movie in HBO... Only the quarter of the movie was directed/written by QT -- the man from Hollywood part, which was okay... but it is obviously not the best. Watch QT's less popular Jackie Brown, which is one of my fav.'s hehe... Well about Kill Bill, I loved it... can't wait to watch 4 hours of KB in one stretch. This summer I'm gonna watch "24" in one stretch... eheh.... Freakin' April, it never ends.

Jackie brown good, but the best Tarantino movie is Reservoir Dogs. Please refrain from watching the Bollywood version, Kaante. "Somebody's shoved a red-hot poker up your ass, and I want to know whose name is on the handle!"-Mr. Pink *snores* -jb |

I sincerely believe that Kill Bill 2 was a crap. Wait this year's acadamy award, and I will be surprised if it gets any nod. It is disconnected mumbojumbo. What a mess. No logical connection whatsoever between several scenes. A little girl was told a tale of massacre, and watches a gory movie before slipping. No reason why Elle should kill (using the snake) Bud. Why long scene of humiliation for Bud in restaurant? Why long tete-a-tete between Bill's 'father'and The Bride? Worse in Tarantino sequences. The excellence in Tarantino's works is something like in this order: Pulp Fiction, Reservoird Dogs, Jackie Brown and this movie. |

Haven't watched the 2nd one, and don't intend to. Think I wasted enogh time watching the 1st one. Music however was great...but it ain't about music. I agree with some of you. Reservoir Dogs was definitely a superb movie. Mr. White Mr. Pink ..all that was hysterical. That's what made QT who he is today. Pulp fiction was another great movie. Both of these movies were so good because the movie script were so good. Kill Bill ain't got no script. You will probably like this movie if you like action hero, illogical fiction, unnecessary effects and loudness. Anyone with a matured taste, please don't waste your time. |

Biswo! You said that? Jeees!! I wonder how you liked Pulp Fiction. Remember a scene in Pulp Fiction where Christopher Walken walks in and preaches young Bruce Willis about a watch for almost 10 minutes? Whats the importance of that scene? Only that Willis goes back to fetch it coz it was important and kills Travolta? That Walken scene was redundant in the movie. The script of the movie just needed to tell us why that watch was so important. QT could have done that scene in various ways without introducing a new character in the movie. But it's QT's imagination. He knew how to confuse the viewers. He made a well known actor like Walken do that scene. One would expect QT to come back to Walken character again. But that doesn't happen. QT didn't want to give you something that you have expected. About that long scene of humilation of Bud at the restaurant, I think it was brilliant scene, one of the QT's wild imagination. He gave so much importance to that scene just to confuse the viewers. One would imagine Bud comes back to take a revenge but something else happens. QT just confused you. Thats it. Beside that, it also tells us that Bud is a changed man. He is ready to take all the humilation but strike back. This scene is so important because it gives you a sense that Bud is really changed. And next scene, Bride attacks him. You don't expect Bud to react violently. But he does. That's the twist. And again you don't expect him to be so ruthless to Bride, you just feel like Bud will let her go, but he wont... He just does everything that one hopes he would do, because the scene you were talking about established that Bud is really a changed man, he will keep his cool. But he doesn't. and even before that scene, Bud tells Bill that the Bride will come and take her revenge which she deserves. See, how QT had established the character of changed Bud? Tabasco is right, its QT's movie, either you love it or you don't. ;) fk. tooo late... i gotta get some sleep... laterzzzzzzzzz.... i don't know what i just wrote... eh... padhera sachchyaunu!! ;) Freakin' April gives me nerves!! Freakin' finals... Laterz |

. kalanki what an excellent explanation about budd's character. and i too believe that the long scene inside the bar was part of the complex characterisation of budd. even though he was changed man outside, inside he was still the same.his sword which he hadn't sold and was lying about proves the fact. only one thing i missed about KB2 is the MUSIC, compared to KB1. :) |

Dyamn, who said it's close to Pulp Fiction? You didn't like it doesn't mean that we can not talk about it, right? So cheerios dude, it's just a movie, some like it, some don't. Some people didn't like "Gone with the Wind" either. :P Anyways Spiderman is the movie I am waiting for. Yeah baby! Summer is the time for Blockbusters... Tab, yup, that sword too..! shoot I have forgotten everything about that movie. :P Second round hanna jaanu parya cha. Next week, second round of Kill Bill 2. :P:P:P |

Kalanki, My criticism of Kill Bill was based on the apparent inconsistencies of characters, extraneous and insensible scenes and its mishmash of different genres (anime, kungfu, westerns and what not).I believe that the movie is good to watch for some of the movie lovers, and there is nothing wrong with that. But when a director is judged, he is judged by his ability to produce a movie consistently in a way that reflect something: either society, or a visionary future, or a realistic portrayal of past. Hence Bud's inconsistent character, where one moment he suffers a long humiliation by a quirky restaurateur, waxes apologetic about the wrong treatment of the Bride (We deserve it, he says to his brother), the other moment he suddenly appears a sadist supremo, burying the Bride alive, was a weakness of the movie. On the other hand, it was never clear to me why Elle would want to kill Bud. It was never clear to me what was the relation between Elle and Bill. If she were so insolent and insubordinate to Bill so as she kills his beloved brother[according to the inscription from the sword], why did she stop in the part I from killing the Bride while she was in hospital and Bill orders her not to kill. I also deplore the characterization of Pai Mei. Where do you find that kind of Kungfu master and monastery in modern day China? And wasn't Pai Mei's character a stereotype? His sadist didactic technique, his mandarin dismissal by throwing his long beard backward, they all were too futile to arouse any excitement. As a movie watcher, I had to suffer all these with insurmountable ennui in a packed theater, I must say:-) Another thing I want to look at a movie is its compactness. If the movie doesn't lose its charm (or its meaning) after removing a scene, then I regard such scene as extraneous. The less such extranous scenes in a movie, the better. Now, why that long sermon during sandwitch-making process by Bill, why that tale about how the little girl killed her fish and why that ungodly movie shown to the kid?Anything will be missed by removing those scenes? I don't think so. And the most ludicrous was his lame attempt to pay homage to westerns of Sergio Leone by placing the rundown trailer middle of nowhere of the Texas! I strongly believe that it is difficult to be disciplined and create a consistent character. To make a capricious character with nondescript behavior, specially when unintended, is easy. You don't have to connect two scenes. Anyone can do it. Bud in the movie was not supposed to be a capricious character. It just was made that way. So, I believe QT failed in KB series.I believe the movie has some charm, it can even be funny [In Computer Science dept at Rice, they are talking about establishing Hateri Honzo award, for sharp mindedness!] sometimes and for some, but I believe most of the critics of cinema will see it the way I saw it: that this movie's demerits outstrips its merits and renders it ineligible for any serious award. |
