APPRENTICE 101 What is Apprentice all about? For most of the people it is about race mangled with real life strategies and emotions. It is about romance and fights that common Soap Operas aren't honest about. Behind the scene, it is about Mark Burnett, Mr Reality. The creator of Survivor, first major Reality Series to hit it big time (not counting MTV's Real World and other stage based game shows) in the US. This Enterpreneur selects best of the ideas and then creates the perfect dressing before presenting to the audience. Sure his stories are manipulated; like Radha aunty from nextdoor telling only the faults of her daughter-in-law so as to create the hatred about her amongst us. You will find this pattern in some of the wild animal shows as well, they take a shot of a cheetah running and then will grab some shots of few deers running scared, they will then merge them and show them like one single event (when Cheetah and deers are shown in same screen, then you know it is true). But what fun would it be without such manipulation. Human life is fun, only if you fast forward all the boring event, that's what Burnett does.

Ideally, APPRENTICE is about Leadership. Leadership defined in a small frame, in this case. These leaders don't have to care what the consequences are going to be in a long run (like getting apartments for people for highest cost, who cares what happens in the future). However, they have to work in a pressure environment and show the fundamental qualities of Leadership, which I would quantify as: 1. the ability to set up your team (up or below in hierarchy) for success 2. the ability to Communicate well with your team 3. the ability to Accept the ownership of the issue and criticism that comes along 4. the ability to See the bigger picture, even when doing micro-managment. 5. the ability to Choose the right team and create the environment that promotes excellence. 6. the ability to WIN. ...add yours.

But overall, APPRENTICE is about America. It is about American Dream. It is what those overcoats with cellphone in their hands are chasing in the Bull Market next to Futton Street. It is what that cup holder is dreaming next to the watercooler at your office. It is the same dream that every restaurant worker in La-La land is dreaming of and it is the same dream that every students are waiting to come true while taking 16 credits a semester and breaking 16 plates a month in a restaurant. There is more to it why America loves it. Trump, Glamor, wealth. Mingle that in a Drama produced by arguably the best reality series maker. There is some hollowness to it, it is very surfacial, just another show-good drama. Whatever it is, APPRENTICE is America in nutshell. APPRENTICE is a product of a realtor and reality-er. Builder and a reality maker. You're fired, eventhough you were never hired.

Matter of fact I was going through Business 101 earlier. I was surfing tips over the apprentice ..as what they called common sense Don't interrupt the boss They aint the competition, they r a potential partner Strategic pricing Back ur people up n b consistent Demonstrate confidence in ur own abilities "I didnt mean to hit you with that web spell, boss. Let me help......darned web.....I know! I'll burn it off!" M a business major n I love fashion! ;) (the customary way to train someone like me for calling exact cleverness n sovereign judgment, apprenticeship might fail!!) Ashley!

The Apprentice Omarosa's on her way to becoming an Oprah-like mogul. Reality shows getting punked. I still have skepticism about the reality of the reality TV. Look at the American Idol show. There are many flaws there. Who had thought Ruben would take the position but not Clay? William hung getting fame for no reason? Ashley, If I were you, I would take the major of my choice no matter what. Anyway you can be a novice and be trained on any specialization.

Apprentice? Does that nonetheless pertain to us? That’s preordained for Americans. How marketable America close the eyes to we immigrated entry-levels, ask me. I had to go for hard way to get a trivial corporate job after my graduation. I was asked to staple the page and Xerox in the copier-is that the training? Then they put ahead of me a question? What? H-1 visa? sponsor? So where was reality? Where was guidance? Where was the dream? DWI, we students pipe dream while breaking 16 plates and later get ignored. Thats about it. Where is the apprenticeship? I don’t swallow it.

I second Usher. Does not pertain to us in the states.

Agreed Usher. Only thing is, I never said it easily pertains to us. For me, APPRENTICE is being able to live a life that I can be satisfied with. For some, it is being Apprentice to the leader, some want to be a leader and some are contend in simply going with the flow. But make no mistake. It is hard to get past the racial stigmata, but it ain't impossible. It is upto you to choose to be just a copier or a writer of an article that gets published in Editorial. Us, being immigrants, have to work harder to achieve that goal; more motivation. To me, that is what fuels my daily life. Lou Tice, a great motivational speaker (more in Business field), talks about stretching the comfort zone. You might want to read his works, will be helpful.

Are we talking about the hit show, "The Apprentice" here? ...God...that was one of my favorite TV shows ever. Did you guys watch the grad finale last night? Wow...I was biting my nails till the very end when Donald Trump chose Bill. I was kinda disappointed about his choice, because I really liked Kwame to win. He is so smart and sooooo good-looking. But I think Bill definitely deserved to win. He is quite the leader that can inspire you... And what about Omarosa? What a bitch! I have never seen anyone as incompetent and yet, as egoistic as her...god... What did you all think?

I have three theories about Donald Trump's hairstyle: 1. He purloined his toupee from a garbage can. 2. He got a $10 haircut, or 3. He killed a squirrel and decided to display his prize by wearing it on his head. Animal cruelty, I tell ya. Where the hell is PETA when you need em? Either way, Donald Trump is a cheapskate.....

American dream, Yes. How many actually get them, far more less. It just lets us dream. It is a magical maze, all our life we strive to get out of but still in the last day before we die, we look back and we are still lost. It makes you realize how rich life can be but never tells you how to get it.I have talked about the "romanticized image" before and it is not anything newer than that. I hate these reality shows. Bunch of worthless craps, helpful just to inflame your desires. These shows are the most unvalueable things I have seen in T.V.
