Parents have the right to leave their money to whomever they wish when they die. Why should a son or daughter who has been disrespectful to their parents inherit anything when their parents die? Parents have the right to give their money to the temple, a kind friend, a stranger, and even a dog if they wish. You get nothing if you abandon your parents. Think about it.
