I'm seeing few events listed here that shows New Years party being celebrated nearly 2 weeks after New Years has already passed. What is the signifincance of celebrating something like a new years day two weeks late? Even in the past I have seen festivals like Dashain being celebrated as later as a month.

After the new years day is gone or dashai is gone, the whole celebration mood is gone, yet it seems like some organizations feel obligated to celebrate such dated festivals few weeks or month later.
