There were playing this movie called “The Ring” in women’s television. Man, it was soooooo scary, I expected the phone to ring any moment to ring and the ghost to come out. Hurriedly, I dialed Uday’s number, “Uday man, I am freaking scared” and told him about the movie. He laughed and said, “Dhat lati!”, and went on to explain me about it being only a movie. I was just so scared that I invited myself and drove to Uday’s place which is 15 minutes drive away. I keep telling myself these ghosts do not exist but don’t know. Well however that movie scared the hell outta me. Talking of ghosts, back in school I used to believe in ghosts, dhami, jakri, kichkandi, etc. Seems I still do. I lived in a hostel major part of my life and we would all gather together and say ghost stories. We had a girl in our class, Rita who would tell us all kinds of scary stories. She claimed to know how to call Boksi (witches) but the good part is that she also claimed to know how to send them back. Of course we would not want to mess up with Rita. In a way, she emotionally blackmailed us. Every time we would come back to the hostel after the holidays, we had to give Rita a share of our goodies. “Oye Meera, wai-wai nikal, natra boksi lagai dinchu.” I was dead of scared of “boksi lagaune.” Don’t know what that is, never will know, but just the thought of boksi would make us her slaves. We friends would give tons of our food to her. Giving only our food was not enough, she would make us clean her bed and would even wear our clothes without asking us. “Rita lai kehi pani na bhan, natra yesle ta sarap dincha.” Man, that girl had us running to obey all her commands. This was in class 4 and we were 16 girls in the hostel and each and everyone was scared of her. Then came a change when this new girl called Niru arrived. I don’t know what the reason was, they had an argument and she beat Rita up, and we actually saw Rita crying. That was the first time I saw two girls fighting using hands, it was different from the boys’ fight. They were pulling each other’s hair and Niru even kicked Rita. It was an amazing scene, one that I won’t forget easily. The impossible had happened. I don’t know if we grew up or Niru brainwashed us, however we realized that Rita did not have the magical powers. Last time when we met at the gathering, we were all talking about how Rita used to make us her slaves. That night we were all going to spend the night in Rita’s house. So we gathered in her bed telling ghost stories, and then we heard the door creak. “Bhoot aayo!!!” Someone yelled. Rita goes, “Timi haru chinta na gar, malai bhoot bagauna aucha..” Rita will never change :)

Nice story Meera, i also have watched the Ring, i think the Japanese version is much better in terms of scare factor than the American one.. That Rita man, id have whooped her ass for u Meera if i had known u gals back in the days, im not scared of 'bokshi lagaune' or such stuff, but how dare she make u her slaves that conniving witch.. hee hee.. U know my friend, watched that Ring film right, and she was almost crying, that night she was still terrified that she went to her brothers room and asked to share with him. Hehe.. but yeh , i used to have those ghost story gatherings with my cousins, and we all each had a real life bhoot ko story to tell. Some of the others real ghostly experiences were pretty scary i must admit, has any one witnessed any real bhoots or other freaky stuff? Anyways, just wanted to say that for now. Cheerio! Domi

Meera, nice one! I, myself, have spent major part ofmy life in hostel, so I can picture the situation. Your story reminded me of the prank that I, along with my some of my frens, did. It was during my 7th grade. We used to talk a lot about ghost and spirits. We did all sorta things, known to us, inorder to call spirits. The famous one that we did was the one with paper and coin. Paper with 'Yes', 'No', 'Start', 'End' and 'Home' written on it, a coin, and two people were needed to call a spirit. The coin first had to be placed on Start and then the group would decide whose spirit to invite. Once the decission was made, two people had to touch the coin gently, at a same time, with thier left index finger and wait till the coin moved to home. Once the coin reaches home, we believed that the spirit was there ready to take our yes/no question. It was the the moving coin with two fingers gently touching it answered all our questions in the form of Yes/NO. When the coin reached 'End' we belived that the spirit was sent back. It was saturday morning. We were gathered in our dormitory with the mood all set to call a spirit. Paper and coin was ready. I,along with one of my fren, was the one who was suppose to be touching the coin. After a long discussion, We decided to call the holy spirit of Sarjah(spelling??),the one who ordered to build Taj Mahal. The coin was moving but in a haywire manner. It took about 10 minutes before it finally reached 'Home'. Now, all of my frens were eager to ask questions. Two of us, with figer touching the coin, got to decide which question to take. My friends were asking all sort of strange question. One of my friend ask if he his marrige will be love marriage or the arranged. The answer from spirit was no. The other friend asked if he would marry the gal that he had crush on. All sort of love questions were coming out. One of my close friend asked If a gal from our class loved him or not. Well, I deliberately took it to Yes. Once the coin reached 'yes', everyone was excited. Everyone was so excited about the outcome that we decided to send the spirit away and discuss over the outcome. Everyone asked my friend if he also liked that gal. He after a long discussion confessed that he did. We somehow convinced him to propose that gal. My friend did proposed that gal. Gal did accepted the proposal to be his GF. He was happy, and i was happy for the prank i did on him. Later i told him the truth. He did thank me for the prank that i played on him ,for it turned out to be a sweet prank. Two months ago, I met that friend of mine on MSN. We chatted about our old days and how we missed those supid things . He later told me that he broke up with his gal. I, inorder to bring humor on the conversation, said, " Do you want me to call the sipirit again?" and he was like," You will never change." .....some people never change :)

Domi, its a good thing I didn't watch the Japanese version else I would get nightmares for days :-) Megalomaniac, hell man you brought back the memories. That coin and paper. I used to believe in those stuff too. Good thing that you got your friend to ask the gurl out. So they deliberately moved the coin huh, no wonder I was like how come my finger never moves on the paper and Rita's always does. Hehe, now the trick is busted. Has anyone of you pretended to be ghost and fool others?? Do share your stories too!!!!

meERA! Don't be so scared, girl. There is nothing to fear, but fear itself. Movies are not real, they are just part of somebody's imagination ( just like I am of yours:p)... Anyway, the story was greatttttttt as always. So vivid descriptions, great narrative. The story reminded me of those i-know-it-all friends of mine from it'SChOOL. BTW, Thanks for mentioning me in your story. Buzz, You wannna know what happened next, don't you? well it's a whole different story. Maybe meera will share it some other time;)

.Let me tell you guys what I went through: Six years ago, when I was in my 7th grade, I went to a trip with my friends. The trip was supposed to be a friendly chit-chat, snack-eating, soda-drinking, frugal waste of time and nothing much seriously thought. Everyone was supposed to enjoy the occasion and nobody was allowed to make a fuss out of the fact that we were going into the jungle renowned for many witch and ghost stories. Anticipation was high among the lads enclosed whereas the girls looked more scared than they eve were during thei entire lifetime. But there was some solace to the girls because it was strictly ordered that there would be no jokes and no hide-and-seek ghost games between the participants. So after all these preparations and exchanges of orders and suggestions, everybody seemed excited to enter the jungle. One by one we entered the jungle premises and moved inwards towards the heart of that terror that we had been hearing for so long. Here, we thought, was a chance to get some action individually, hence all the guys started moving in their own pace and direction. Girls looked scared and did not know whose lead to follow, so they formed their own group and moved . It looked like a cool, brisk, enchanting , sunshine morning to everyone- but little did they know that the ordeal of their life was waiting for them, just a few hundred yards further. Suddenly, Raju turned backwards, he looked carefully around him, and yelled "Ram, stop kidding man! Come out". But there was no sign of Ram any where. Raju started getting the jolts of fear, tears ran down his eyes, his legs started shaking, hands started trembling. He felt fear, and in a magnitude that he had never imagined. He never knew he could be this afraid all his life. "Ram...come out man! I am scared okay! This is no time for joke" He looked around but there was no sight of Ram. He could feel the air blowing through his body, he could smell the fear coming out from within his soul, he could feel the sweat draining down his forehead, and his tears rolled down his cheeks into his lips. He could taste the sweat, the taste of fear. On the other side, Rita and Rama were walking along with Radha and Reshma. These four girls were never scared, and were often referred to as the "Mighty R's" in the school. But all their might was about to disappear in this forest that had so much horror reserved for them that all their might was about to be blown away in the wind into the wilderness of that jungle. Suddenly, Rama slipped her feet and fell into a hole in the ground. They had not noticed the hole in the ground while walking and Rama became a victim, she fell into the hole. The other three R's shouted as loud as they could but they got no reply. All of them started shaking with fear. No body had a clue as to what to do. They shouted a few more times, but Rama would not shout back.

Damn that sounds scary, was it real or just one of your imagination ??? Here is my story about what happened to me after watching the RING Dorje, Lao, Angel, Nyamka and my self went to watch THE RING on Saturday evening. We were really excited. As soon as we went inside the theater Angel and Nyamka went to the back seat and started making out like crazy, moaning, giggling, heavy breathing. Anyway I sat in the middle with Lao on the left and Dorje on the right. The movie started and every-time there was a scary scene Dorje would pinch me on my arms. It seemed like Lao was more scared then me. He would look at me during the movie and try to smile but I knew he was scared to death. After the movie we all went home. Angel and Nyamka were talking and having fun while Lao, Dorje and I were dead silent. We were so scared that we didn’t even want to talk to each other. They dropped me home. I was scared to walk from my driveway to my room. No one was home so I was even more scared to be home all by my self. I changed and got into my bed. Right when I was about to fall a sleep when I heard the phone ring, it was Dorje. Dorje has a very long hair (below her hips). She said she came out of the shower, put all her hair up front and started brushing it, she went to her mirror and looked at her self. She said she saw her self as the girl (ghost) from the movie. She got scared and threw her brush on the floor and called me ASAP. I started laughing even though I was scared to death myself and told said Good night and went to sleep. Next morning after taking shower I went in front of my mirror and looked at my self brushing my hair, I found out what Dorje was talking about a night before. White clothes, long wet hair. Damn that was scary. Ever since then I don’t look at myself while brushing my wet hair. U_Day bro you're not the only one who got mentioned on the story. Mick the sick mentioned my name as well (Reshma), not just my name I guess I'm one of the MIGHTY R's, he he he Peace Out................. ReKhA aka. ReZ ???

I don't have to pretend I am a ghost -- I AM one, re kya! ;) Once, it really happened. I was returning home from the school's evening gathering. It must have been late in the evening, maybe about 10-ish. Cycle huinkyaundai...sun-saan chakamanna andhyaro ma...I approached the Bagmati pul. Then I suddenly recalled testai bhoot ko stories...like Bagmati ma rati rati kichkandi haru hidchhan re...mutu ta dhyangro thokya jasto ufrana thalyo... I tried hard not to thik about it, and rushed to cross the pul. Euta-duita tyampo taxi passed by...then, I was about few feet away from the end of the pul...ali ali dhukka huna thalyo...daryaaaaaaaanggg! So it happened! The more I was pedalling the cycle forward, jhan jhan pachhadi po jane! :o saato putlo udhyo ni...bal garera jhan jhan agadi pedal garchhu...utti pachhadi po janchha...yesai ta dar le sab energy lutya...I finally gave up and jumped out of the cycle and started to run. khuttai chaldaina! I mean, chalnu ta chalchha hai...but aekdam gahro hune...pachhadi farkera herda ta...no doubt...there were two seto saadi laako aaimai haru...I couldnt see their faces, but somehow, I knew that they were smiling at me...uthera feri I tried to run...and luckily I saw one tyampo approaching from the other direction...I hailed at him...swaa swaa gardai...without thiking, I quickly put myself in the tyampo...pulled a Rs. 500 ko note and told the driver to take me to Maharajgunj. Cycle ko goli mardya...ani I knew the driver wouldnt agree to take me late at night without a substantial about of money, so I just told him to keep that freaking Rs. 500. "ke bho bhai? kina testari tarsya? hosh-hawasai chhaina jasto chha timro," the driver asked me. Huh? teti khera po I realized...it was a woman's voice!!!! and then I finally took a good look at the driver..tyo pani seto saadi laayera...khuuta le po tyampo chalai raa...khutta, as I was told, was ulto...like the kichkandis were supposed to have! Ke bho hola mero halat? I literally started to cry and screamed..."AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" garera chichyaundai uthi raa ke ma ta...Bagmati pul ta ke...I was on my bed...safe and sound! ;) *********************** nicely narrated, meera!

It's a true incident that happened back in 1995. It happened to my own sister when she was going back from after visiting me. She told me when she came back next week. Here it goes........... It was a late evening. My sister was going home with her husband, they were riding motorbike. When they reached "TINKUNEY" suddenly she left very weird, she felt like someone was following them. She turend right and left. All of a sudden a little face started appearing. It was a face of an old lazy with big red TIKA on her forhead. Then it became more visible and larger. The face was staring @ her without even blinking once. It was 5 feet away from her. She kept staring at the face and the face stared back. The face became so big it was a size of "NANGLOW". All of a sudden she realize there was no one on the road besides her and her husband. She looked everyone, no sign of one single human being. She turned left and it was still there. She looked down, there was nothing. Just a huge face floating and staring @ them. When they were about to reach "KOTESWOR" the face started disapearing. Peace Out............. ReKhA aka. ReZ

. guys i have watched both 'the ring' and 'ringu" the japanese version. and believe me 'the ring' is no where compared to 'ringu'. i dont understand why they have to make americanized version and can't settle down with sub title. vanilla sky and the ringu are two examples, i have known, where the remake has completely screwed the original movie. BTW i downloaded 'the ringu' through kazza. if ya have kazza go for it. its worth downloading :P
