If you are going to Nepal soon and you are able to carry a laptop computer or a radio transmitter, please email to me at sagenepal (at) yahoo (dot) com ... It is for schools in Myagdi district. We have two radios, about 19 older laptops, and some PC computer parts waiting to be transported but we cannot afford the air freight and customs may also cause a problem with shipping so many computers at once. Thank you.

_sage ji,

It is nice to know that you have been able to gather some items to send to Nepal.
First I want you to make sure that the items you are sending are not antique(read:obsolete). You know about the 'www'(world wide wait)? This applies to individual computers too. ;)If they are then they will just be dumped in Nepal since they will not be used.

Another thing is unless you can hand deliver the packages to the indidual carriers then I think it will cost same or more to send to the carriers in US (if that is where the laptops and other stuff are!).

Another thing is if you send the items through an NGO then I don't think you will have any problems with the customs. For this you will need to consult with the customs officials and other sajhites may be more knowledgeble on this.

Besides isn't sending items in bulk supposed to cost less?
