When I deeply think about Nepal - Kathmandu, history, and all it is famous for or in other words, all the things it is known to the outside world were built during MALLA times. The Newar Kings were so cool - that time was like RAM RAJYA times. The Kings would see from their palace to check whether every household has their kitchen lighted or not. Unfortunately, after Prithvi Narayan Shah I can not even name a single thing built in the country. The Shah and Rana Dynasty has been just doing nothing what ???
Poor Last Newar King Jayasthiti Malla, when all Newars were feasting during Indra Jatra, they were attacked. What could they do? Except to hit by Chhwelaa and Aaloo achaar. Don't you think so? A real curse to all Newars, I say to Nepal our country, was that day.
ALL NEWARS SHOULD MOURN THE DAY OF PRITHVI JAYANTI.

Bro, is there a movie about this great malla king or u just read from a book???
U know what u wrote makes me laugh.Now I am not making fun of oyur Newar king but what u wrote is incredible.

All newars should unite on a very special day to make the rest aware of How Newar King's were? I still remember, when I once visited the Kathmandu Durbar Square palace, the guide did mention that from the highest window of the palace, the newar kings always would check whether there was smoke coming out of each household or not to confirm everybody has food to eat or not. Oh! my God! How cool !!! Those days are dreams only now. I have always noticed that our newar community as the miost friendly, relaxed,sharing, peace loving and most compassionate community in Nepal. Because of our lovely culture, our great Newar Kings, still Nepal is known in the world. Otherwise, what is there to be proud of? Due to our beautiful nature, we've always been exploited. Don't you think so?

i love all my newar friends, and you're right... they are more carefree and loud and funny, more more than we were in our gatherings.. i used to love crashing at their place when they had some celebration going on!!!

I think buddhu needs some more lessons on Nepali Medieval History. You know what they say about partial knowledge... It's dangerous.

Buddu mate, i agree with u whole heartedly about Newars..care-free, sharing, hospitable..etc Porcey honey has said the rest of what i think.. carefree, funny, loud and dyamn great. ;op

Nowadays a King is just like a SETO - HATTI. It's so costly to keep a pet SETO HATTI. Malla Kings have done so much to bring Nepal to light, they were all spiritual persons. They never attacked each others. That's why so many temples and chowks. Chowks are to gather neighbours to talk, share one another's problem, to unite our hearts. Unlike SETO HATTI, they were intelligent in every respect. But what one could do when one is attacked from back. All newars had just finished a great feast, down with aayelaa...
