Nepal is a country in South Asia. The main religion is hinduism and buddhism. The main language is Nepalese, Maithili and Bhojpuri. Nepal became independent from the United Kingdom in 1923. The country is formally a parliamentary democratic monarchy but at the moment due to the civil war between the government and maoist rebels power is in the hands of the king.
