I was asked by a friend to post this vacancy notice here. For those who are in Nepal, or plan to be there for a year or so begining this summer, and who have a particular zeal for social sciences/humanities, this might of interest.

Social Science Baha

VACANCY

Programme Manager

Social Science Baha, an organisation working for the advancement of the social sciences in Nepal, is looking for a Programme Manager. The position is initially open for a year, starting 1 August, 2004. The Programme Manager will be required to conduct the various activities of the Social Science Baha, including overseeing acquisitions for its library, initiating and hosting lectures, and organising workshops/conferences.

Applications are invited from graduates and post-graduates with a personal excitement about the possibilities of the social sciences for national advancement, and the creative zeal to further the aims and objectives of the Social Science Baha, (see www.himalassociation.org/baha). Lack of relevant experience is not necessarily a barrier. Salary will be competitive, commensurate with individual potential and capabilities.
