I am making a list of movies that I will watch over the summer. Does anyone know the link of the thread to the various [worth watching] movie names? If not, just mention one movie name here that you have enjoyed watching ! [ New, Old Anything]. Thanks. |

I thought " the passion of christ" was so violent. i had to keep my eyes closed most of the time.. and it is not even rated.. i think mel gibson went a bit too far..i saw this movie at 12.30 am and there were kids coming to see this movie at this hr!! i honestly do not think that the kids should be allowed to watch this movie. |

I really enjoyed watching Chinese movies by Zhang Yimou starring Gongi Li like Ju Dou,Raise the Red Lantern Red Sorghum among many more. I'm also a big fan of crime capers, whodunit mysteries. Bogey's character as a private dick Sam Spade in Maltese Falcon and Philip Marlowe in The Big Sleep and bar owner Rick Blaine in Casablanca. From hard boiled Sam Spade to cynical Rick Blaine, from wisecracking shamus Philip Marlowe Bogart created a gallery of unforgettable characters. "American Grafitti" is a great tale of growing up in the tumultous times in the 60s. Tis movie put George Lucas in the tinseltown map, so to speak. Movies that depict sensuality of food like Eat, Drink, Man, Woman, LIke Water Like Chocolate and Tampopo are simply sublime. BLUE, WHITE and RED, the acclaimed trilogy by Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski are superb. Hailed by filmgoers as some of the most absorbing, engaging, well-crafted cinematic dramas of recent times. List goes on and on. |

Guru Dutt directed Pyasaa? Hell yeah!! And even "Saheb Bibi Aur Ghulam" (although his assistant and writer Abrar Alvi is credited as a director). Kagaz ke Phool was one of the best movies ever made even though it was flop when it was released (and also a main reason for GD's suicide and crediting his asst. director as the director of the rest of his movies including chaudavi ka chaand and Saheb bibi) . It eventually became classic, a masterpiece. |

V. Shantaram made it. ;) I guess you can find it online. Tyo *annti* ma lukaako paisa nikalne bhaye hehe!! Apart from Guru Dutt's movies, try Bimal Roy's movies. They are really good... His Devdas is zillion times better than new slap-competition Devdas. Bandini, Sujata are also really good. Try it.. :P And I've only watched one Satyajit Ray's movie. Shatranj ke Khiladi, which is brilliant. Otherwise watch some masala movie... eh.. time-pass huncha!! :) I have a long list of Ranjana ma gayera herya masala movie. dim? Imagine a song during a fight sequence or fight during a song sequence.. eh. "jaise ko taisa mila *DHISUM* kaisa maja aaya *DHISUM*" Ever seen that in any other movie?? ehehe.. |
