Thank you Adirondack! ... And what was all that about the barbarian acts committed upon US mercenaries in Faluja????????? The irony is, Bush followers really, truly believe that Iraq war is/was a mission of mercy! |

. The title displayed on the thread was 'PHOTOS OF IRAQI ABUSED BY SITARA' instead of 'PHOTOS OF IRAQI ABUSED BY US PERSONNEL'. That was something.. it's disgusting, innit? So called American liberators! |

I would like to sit here and criticize USA too for the abuse. But lets look at this incident objectively. How serious are the abuse? Ofcourse some of the abuse are serious and are sick. However we have to look at this in comparision to other occupation by armed people. There is a certain devil in every human being. For example quite a lot of us hate abuse of women and yet most would grab the opportunity of visiting a prostitution house or a stip club( modern version). In Nepal too hundreds of villagers were abused by the security personnel and few unscrupulous hakims and that's the main cause of the success of maobadi uprising. But there the case if "out of sight, out of mind". I mean the army and policy who bear arms have a monopoly of crime in Nepal. And they commit henious crimes with impunity, without the fear of punishment. Thus the situation is much worse in Nepal. At least the US government is not making any excuses for the behaviour of those army who abused the iraqi prisoners. I hope that these abusers will be given appropriate punishment and that the US gov. is not just offering lip service to justice. Justice should also be had by the abused Nepalis. |

Absolutely inhumane and disgusting. My question is, shouldn't the occupation forces leading from the front, setting an example? US forces have gone to a great magnitude of mis-treatment against the Iraqi POWs. This is a henious crime committed by those who were suppose to establish democratic norms in the country. This serious lack of social responsibility have bludgeoned the geneva conventions right from head to tail. The ever so falling down image of Coalition of the Willing against the eyes of the Arab world has just terminated. |
