sweep? are you kidding? Lakers are the best team with savvy veterans. NBA pundits picked Lakers to win the title in the beginning of the season. If Karl Malone would not have injured, Lakers would have the best record in the NBA. They got the best 1-2 punch with Shaq and Kobe. Shaq is still a dominant center and Kobe is the most clutch player in the league. And they got the Gary Payton, who is a true point guard and known for his defense. They did not call him THE GLOVE for nothing. And they also have the best power forward in Karl Malone. Junior Walton is emerging as a good player who can pass the ball pinpoint and they got Derek Fisher, who can flat out shoot the ball beyond the arc. Phil Jackson, the Zen Master with 9 championship rings is undoubtly (?) the best coach ever. He has always been successful with his Zen philosophy. He has won 6 titles while with the Bulls and 3 with Lakers and looks hungry for some more rings Who are you to question about Lakers ability?

Hmmm..Sadistic AX, being satirical. I gotta support Spurs as T'wolves are sure to goto the final (Then I will pick T'wolves). Knicks: Biggest money still the worst team(next to Boston) to be qualified for Playoff. Lakers: Biggest talent pool, still can't even goto the West Finals. May be we should trade H20 to Kobe, that could work like Kidd-Marbury trade 2.5 years ago.

Welcome back DWI. Looking at the circumstances, I think Knicks did a pretty good job. They had so many new players, new coach, new GM (with new philosophy). I see a better team next year. They already have pretty good back court combination of Marbury and H20 (if he is healthy). Front court is loaded with upcoming and young Tim Thomas with good PF Kurt Thomas and shot blocking tandem of Nazr Mohamed and Dikembe Mutombo. Even with that roster, I don’t think it will be enough to get by Eastern Conference. I hope they will trade away K. Thomas/Harrington (reasonable salaries) with Moochie Norris/Shannon Anderson (high price player who was not even in playoff roster) so they can sign good front court player like Rasheed Wallace. I am sure MAVS will be happy to get hardnosed Kurt Thomas (defensive purpose) with either Moochie or Shannon Anderson (salary) for Tonie Walker. Getting a new coach is not a bad idea either. Lenny Wilkens is too soft for a team like Knicks. Byron Scott may be?

It is for sure... that.. there gonna whole lotta trading this off-season.......... players will be moving frm here to there.. there to here......... i donno about others.. but houston does need a serious trade.. we need sumone who can feed the ball to yao in every possession.. n hopefully yao will come out as his size for his 3rd season n make sum noise.. if he learns to be lil physical.. then yao gonna dominant the center position for nxt year..... shaq he's seems to be done.. he isn't as active as he was last year...... yb BTW dwi n AX bro.. how bout.... KOBE N TD in same starting line UP :D:D:D:..just a thought yb

Spurs are 10 million under cap for next season. Manu is the only player who is not under contract for next season. They can get another good player(s) with that kinda money left. This year free agent market is not that deep was it was few years ago. Here are the top 20 free agents that I know of, feel free to add: 1. Kobe - unrestricted 2. Malone - can opt out 3. Payton - can opt out 4. Q. Richardson - restircted 5. Manu Ginobli - restircted 6. mehmet okur – restricted 7. H. Turkoglu - unrestricted 8. Brent Barry - ??? 9. Rasheed Wallace - unrestricted 10. Rashard Lewis - unrestricted 11. Steve nash – can opt out 12. C. Blount – can opt out 13. Kenyon Martin – restricted 14. Stephan Jackson – unrestricted 15. Antonio Mcdyese - unrestricted 16. Carlos Boozer - unrestricted 17. J. Magloire - ??? 18 Marcus Camby - ??? 19. Sprewell - ??? 20. Bonzi wells - ??? who do you want in your team and will yoru team be able to afford it?

:) Yb bro.. TD and Kobe in the same line up........... That is very possible. Ask where?? the ALL-Star games and prolly the OLYMPIC team. Ax bro did you mean to say Antowaine Walker??? Guys I do not see the point why HOuston should be traded?? Houston is the only the remaining PLayer in the KNICKS lineup who had been to the NBA finals (championship match) few years back. He is as good as any player in the league. It is so unforunate for the Knickers fans that he couldn't stay healthy all season long. But you bet, a healthy H20 is a starting all-star. DWI bro wrote: "Knicks: Biggest money still the worst team(next to Boston) to be qualified for Playoff"...... I am not sure Boston has that big salary cap? Oh yeah LAfrenz is a big money player.... Yet it's only Paul besides him with a fat salary. DANY aInge have a huge salary room to buy/fraft in good players next season. Oh............... what about Rasheed Wallace playing for BEANTown????? Aahhaa Sounds cool. I do not see Lakers being swept away. If there is any team that has the potential to beat the SPurs, then it gotta be the Lakers. Besides, it's only the Lakers who had been able to knock them off from the playoffs. SO let's not forget that. SOme of you might be saying the Lakers are fading away because of the AGEd players... yet thr truth is the SPurs won the Championship with ROBINSON playing under the basket. So, Lakers is a veteran squad with rookies of great potential. I had been favoring the Spurs to win this series. I will say SPurs in game 6. Hey... watchout for ugly KINgS...... the MVP will have to do the best he had ever done to stop the high scoring KIngs. GO NBA go.. Jai nepal Jai Nepal

aakash, why you being discouraged so early. It was just first game. I am sure Zen Master wanted to see to how Spurs is goign to play without The Admiral. He gave a game to Spurs, Lakers will take 4 in a row. How does that sound? ****** hearing from you guys, it seems Sheed is the only coveted player in the next free agency.

Ax, Agree 100%. Extending the contract of Kurty is good from trading point of view and I think Isiah will trade him next year. If we could trade those players, we might be able to get some athletic replacements. Lenny is soft and that showed with the Team's approach. Did you see how Pistons held Nets to just 56 points last night? Although the Free agency market might not be deep, there are more players available for trading than ever (recently). Carter, Iverson and T'mac might be tradeable looking at how their team played; although I think their franchise might not give them up that easy. ProudNepali, Boston in parenthesis was for worst team to be qualified in the playoff. High salary was referenced to Knicks only. I think a bigger failure was Blazers (although with recent trades they might have cut their salary lower). Spurs will come out as winner, but it won't be a easy sweep for sure.

yeah aakash. they can win 4 in a row. Zen Master made a pact with Malone and Payton. He will get them the championship if they play defense and traingle offense. Without hesitation, both agreed for the elusive championship they have been wanting for long time....

aakash, why game 6 or 7??? they can finish of Spurs in 5. Spurs are not that good of a team, their 15 games win streak was a fluke. If you don't believe me ask Zen Master.

I guess we have to extend to game 6 like aakash said. Lakers did not give up even they were down by 19 at one point. They need to play the whole game witht he same intensity as they did in 3rd qtr. Dumping ball to low post was working great. Payton got few baskets posting up weaker and smaller Parker. I expect to see that more in next game. 4 wins aways from the Western Conference Championship game. Hoping to see more exciting game... who are your picks on other games?

AX bro.. thought you understood the NBA situation.... when I read your posting in the other thread. Since you are in LA.. I see reasons why you root for Lakers. FIrst people were saying: Spurs are over-rested-------------------------> Lakers will game 1 and the whole series in 4 or 5 games. Spurs won game 1 and take the lead as 1-0 in the series. Then people (Lakers fans I meant) start saying-----------------> Lakers had a huge comeback in the 3 rd quarter, so next game they will be able to win the game. And that Zen master will come up with a plan to shut down Parker. .... morevoer they said at least this is not going to be a sweep??? Spurs won game 2 and take the lead as 2-0 in the series. Now people (the same Lakers fans) are saying--------------------> The Lakers are gonna go win 4 straight and win the series in game 6. and someone even said without a shame that the Spurs 15 games winning streak was a fluke..... as though Lakers were like 40-40 team in the regular season. whiners......... you think Lakers are the world. Just as US considers itself as the whole World you guys are tempting to think the whole NBA is just about LA. Come on people grow up. You guys know much more than that. I am a fan of neither of the team but I enjoy watching their games. Parker just had his career high (playoff), who's gonna stop him?? and how?? Shaq had some explosion but was too less to overcome the loss. Do not say the turnovers killed the Lakers. they did not turn the ball over on their own will.... the Spurs D- caused it. That's what happens to the fate of the most of the teams when they play against defensive team like San Antonio. Kobe;s situation reminded me of Paul Pierce;s in Boston. Bruce Bowen shutting down Kobe was similar to Arterst's shutting down Paul. I still have a hope that the Lakers can win games against the Spurs. still Spurs should win the seires 4-2. Oh........ yeah I wish Kobe goes to attend the Court in Denver since whenever he comes back from the court he puts on MVP like numbers. as of the other picks. Detriot over Nets : 4-3. Nets have more firepowers than the Pistons but the solid D- should undermine the offensive ability of the Nets. Pacers over Heat: 4-1. Pacers are damn too good. valuable playoffs experience for the younger Heats. Kings over Wolves: 4-2. The wolves seem to settle with the first round win. The Kings are picking their game. The Wolves can do as good as what they have been doing. While the KINgs have every room for improvement. and as already stated above: Spurs over Lakers: 4-2. Read the posting carefully. GO NBA GO.
