Hey Bro & Sis,

Dont u think same old guys again hopping for PM's seat...Why not Pashupati as a new PM? What do u say?
Badmash Posted on 15-May-04 09:26 PM

Rana is certainly an eligible leader, but he is also the leader who was protesting for PM Thapa's resignation on the ground that his government wasn't a legitimate one. It wil be foolish for him to accept the premiership, unelss he gets nominated by the leaders of other parties, not just by the King.

Let's hope the next PM will be able to deliver the people's need and bring peace to the nation. More importantly, let'e hope the rest of the politicians, and other alike, will let the next adminsitration focus on the issues without any interruptions. Let's hope all the protests and bandhs will come to an end.

Pashupati SJB Rana has been a member of parliament for 25 years from Sindhupalchowk region. In these 25 years there has not been any maor development work either in education sector or economic for people of that region. Every once in five years before the election he would tour the region with his wife and daughter, distributing cash or giving feast to the illiterate villagers in an effort to keep himself in his chair for 5 more years. He has no emotional attachment to his electoral region and has not contiributed anything at all to the region. A person from an aristocratic family as himself can never do good to his constituency nor to the country.

Enigma too,

I don’t know what Rana did or did not do for Sindhupalchowk, so I don’t challenge you. I do take your words and acknowledge that he failed to deliver to the people of his region, and for that reason, it is plausible to disqualify him for the next premiership role.

However, when you make a biased remarks like, “A person from an aristocratic family as himself can never do good to his constituency nor to the country. ” , It just speaks for itself that even if Pashiputi rana does abundance good for Sindhupalchowk and the country, you will not be satisfied for where he comes from. You are also making a statement that includes every person who has ties to the Rana family and I find it highly offensive. Rana regime is long over and we need to get over it. We need a leader who has a proven track record for delivering to the people, regardless of where he comes from. If Pashupati Rana is not in your favor, then recommend someone who is. But for crying out loud, stop being prejudice.

Badmash, By the way are you related to Pashupati?
boston_dude Posted on 16-May-04 06:24 PM

eNigma_too is absolutely right. I am from Sindhupalchowk, and eNigma_too "took the words right out of my mouth".

Badmash, you said,".....Rana regime is long over and we need to get over it." Perhaps, you don't realize that Pashupati himself uses every bit of what it means to be a "Rana" in Sindupalchowk. He is known as "sarkar" in Sindupalchowk. And, he makes it very clear to local Tamangs, that to oppose Pashupati is to oppose "sarkar".

Garibjanata, whether or not I am related to Pashupati, it is no one’s business. It is sheer ludicrous, however, to think that I am related to him just because I may have spoken in his favor.

Boston dude,

I think I made it clear in my previous post that I don’t know what Pashupati does or does not do in Sindupalchowk. I am not from Sindhupalchowk, nor have I ever been there. The point I am trying to make is, if you have issues with Pashupati, then why not take it up to him as an individual, rather than generalizing the entire Rana clan. If you do wrong, Boston Dude, I will deal with you and not your last name or your ancestors, nor do I blame your family clan in Sindhupalchowk for turning you into who you are.

Pashupati SJB Rana is a politician. Let’s measure him as to whether or not he is a good politician. Let’s not get into making racial slurs. That’s all!

Hope things are well in the city of kind hearts!

Becoz PSJBR is mandale? Do you guys know he is involved in Chelibeti trafficking... He has big giroha in Dubai and Saudi..

geordie Posted on 16-May-04 10:24 PM

i seriously dont think PSJBR should be next PM bcoz,

he is da main man behind khimti and bhote koshi's ppa (power purchase agreement) which was done in dollars.

boston dude: if u r frm sindhupalchowk, do u know he's killed countless no. of people(opposition karyakarta, most of them gayab bhayo rey) during his election time.?

eNigma_too Posted on 16-May-04 10:44 PM

Badmash, I still say that" a person from an aristrocratic family as his can never do good to the country or his constinuency", if you think otherwise tell me of anyone from his family who is worthy to be respected or to become the PM of our country. Pashupati and the rest of Rana clan thinks that they are way above the rest of us Nepalese, for crying out loud they he is married to an indian and hsi daughters are married to indians too. now, I am not at all against marrying Indian but it certainly shows how it feels about his fellow countrymen.
I remembered once durign the election we youth from sindhupalchowk region gave those Pashupati's goon a good thrashing. He brings in hired thugs from kathmandu, Jagat Gauchan being his right hand men then. The other day I was watching king Abdullah's address to the World Economic forum, the dignity and strength hsi carries with him, made me wish that we had a king like that. A king with the drive to rise the country and a vision to guide it. As long as we have somebody like Pashupati as MPs and Gyanendra as king I don't see the end of the tunnel anywhere near.

Garibjanata Posted on 17-May-04 12:59 PM

Badmash, You must be a Rana then, otherwise why would you so aggressively try to defend Mr. Mick Jagger (if you have seen Pashupati's thick lips hanging down from his face then you'll understand what I mean).

Jai Sambho, Jai Pashupatinath.

The prime reason why he cannot become PM is,

He takes your pen to sign the paper, then he gives you back your papers and insert the pen in his pocket. That alone will disqualify him to be a PM.
