Enough is enough!!!!
stop posting about this book and the author.
One was more than enough
Please stop kissing his ass. Ok he got reviews, So what ???
sally Posted on 15-Aug-01 05:23 PM

So don't click on the link. What's the problem?

Actually, a lot of people have been hearing that this book was coming for a long time, and it's nice to have it finally out and see what reviewers are saying. It's not like the people who are posting these links are kissing the ground he walks on or anything. It's just a matter of being genuinely pleased and interested in someone's accomplishments when it reflects on a culture you're intimately linked with. To see a familiar culture reflected in literature is a kind of validation of personal experience, isn't it?

Or maybe we'll read the book and decide it's NOT a validation, that it's NOT something we can relate to. That's interesting too. People follow the latest developments in Nepali politics. Why not also follow the latest developments in Nepal-related literature?

By all means, if you don't want to read the book, don't. And if you don't like the book, criticize it. But it's ridiculous to criticize the fact that people are interested in it.

well said Sally!
Maina Posted on 16-Aug-01 09:57 AM

Sally !!!
Discussion on this this book and this person is stagnant news. Only thing that I was not happy about was postings of all these critical evaluation from the whole world. Are they trying to say,"People go buy this book ?" Just don't over do it. Never had problem when people were talking about it. Just don't try and over promote because its free.
And Namita!!! Get a life!
Village Voice Posted on 16-Aug-01 10:52 AM

Hey buddy will you pipe down? You are hurting my ears with all those exclamation marks. You sound shriller and shriller. Who gave you that name anyway? How appropriate. Maina, the shrilly voice.
Maina's Fren Posted on 16-Aug-01 11:33 AM

Village voice,
Don't like it, close your ears. Put a helmet on. andale andale!!!!!! Miss I've forgotten how to speak Nepali. And keep it on, so the sky won't fall on your head.
Baaj Posted on 16-Aug-01 02:56 PM

Maina and friends,

His book is out and people like it. And they are raving about it. All are ecstatic. If you don't like people raving about hiim, you have a problem not to appreciate someone's success, esp when it is close to home. Either criticize, or appreciate. Don't drool over someone being over appreciated.
Maina Posted on 16-Aug-01 04:12 PM

Listen Baaj!
I am not saying not be appreciative. Had no problem people talking about it in the past. What happens when any system overloads... it crashes. That is all I am saying. (Its like that song Mambo #5, when it came out, it was great but when Radio's started overplaying it, people started HATING it.) Same principle here.
Besides Don't even know the guy to be jelous of his success. DON KNOW THE GUY, DON GIVE A HORSE'S ARSE. As far as drooling goes, well... you should know better cause your saliva is splashing all over, otherwise you would not be diputing my point here.
rolpali Posted on 16-Aug-01 05:10 PM

Dear Readers..

Please ignore Maina and Maina's friends and keep on posting about Smart and reviews of his book. These people have nothing to do but critisize others. They have nothing to offer for community and they can't see if someone else is doing something better for himself/herself or for community. These members of BITCHPATROL hide their ugly faces behind computers and all they do is complain.
Web police Posted on 16-Aug-01 05:53 PM

Ropali, have you ever looked at your self in the mirror? you should be the last person on this bulletin board to give advice, we have read samples of your contribution in this board, so first practice what you preach. Got it?
