FREEDOM

I don’t want your freedom
If being free is to be enchained by your puritanical taboo
Responsibility isn’t the price of freedom, no
If it’s only the destitute who needs to pay

I don’t want your freedom
If being free is to be enslaved by your hypocrisies
Despotism and bureaucracy isn’t the law and order, no
If it’s only the powerless who must obey

I don’t want your freedom
If being free is to enunciate your chauvinistic decree
Patriotism isn’t the mistrust of loyalty, no
If it’s only the voiceless who cannot disagree

I don’t want your freedom
If being free is to entrust your ostensibly immaculate creed
Evil isn’t the image of God, no
If it’s only the tolerant who should worship your bigotry

I don’t want your freedom
If being free is to witness the annihilation of the innocents
Peace isn’t the outcome of your atrocious absolutism, no
If it’s only the peaceful who ought to endure your tyranny

Amen to Rosie.......again!

Soleil,

I feel like setting you up with my sista. you sound incredible. keep it up! keep it goin'

LadyBug Posted on 26-May-04 01:32 PM

Disclaimer - i assume Soleil to be a male name...... pardon moi if i turn out to be mistaken.
Poonte Posted on 26-May-04 04:20 PM

Impeccable depiction of an irony that hundreds of millions of people live with around the world. Be it in Nepal, or in the Middle East, or in Africa, it is the people who are utterly destitute and helpless that are, in the name of freedom, again and again, forced to endure just another form of tyranny! Repeated deceitful promises of freedom and prosperity have only brought nothing but more destitution, poverty and misery, in all shapes and forms, to the helpless -- sometimes naive -- citizens.

Bravo!! Encore, mon ami Soleil, encore!
hamisabai Posted on 26-May-04 05:43 PM

Freedom Booster.

soleil,

Hail to the almighty.vigilante
Hail to thine Losangeles Freedom
Hail to thine heterosexualism
Hail to thine hypocrisy

i'm happy in my own deceitful, pitiful hole....whatever stimulates..
Soleil Posted on 27-May-04 06:28 PM

Thanks guys for your appreciation and support.

Rosie, thanks for your suggestion to publish it, but don't I need a connection to do so?:P hehe just kidding.

Lady Bug, your assumption is 100% accurate. This Soleil is indeed a male ;). And I am flattered by your compliments towards me. Ooh hoo! I sound incredible. So far for setting me up with your sista, is she as remarkable as you are? :P About myself, maybe Sitala dyu could answer that. Sitala dyu, am I incredible?:P

Thanks Monika for your concern. Prolly it's time for them nincompoops to buy a nice thesaurus. ;)

Kalanki bro, I've got the chords and the lead all composed to croon a tune for. Are you up to vocalize it? Or should I ask Poonte to wail it the "gayine eshtyaal"? Ryaain ryaain ryaain?:P And Poo, where art thou?

no second opinion needed esp that of sitala dyu.
or at least i dont need that person's in particular -
lets just leave at that.

and monika - -why in the mood to start the catfight with dear sonika again?
she is in paradise. leave her there.
LadyBug Posted on 28-May-04 02:41 PM

it might be = it mighty well be!

SITARA Posted on 29-May-04 06:33 AM

Soleil, the incredibly bombastic hulk, with a dazzling smile? ;) What an answer babey, you credibility lies with moi???.... well , now I am flattered! :) Let's hope the one in question has more credibility than those that crawl out from under rocks! hehe!

Monika, Soliel uses super-bombastic words, people might need both a dictionary as well as a thesaurus! ;)

And when Soliel uses those "boombastic" chords while he plays his six-strings, even Nepali Richie Samboras ask for a glass of water, hehe.. and a pack of gaida churot and Kleenex.

phew!!! Soliel bru, I am up for it... no no, don't let Poonte dai sing that!!! :P Aba tyo ryaai ryaai hanne budha lai ke thaa how to vocalize a song... grrr!! hehehe.. budha lai tyahi ryaai ryaai thik cha!! :P
Soleil Posted on 29-May-04 12:15 PM

Dear friends, I have a plead to make. If you cannot love another being, doesn't mean you have to hate him/her. If you cannot disagree with someone else's opinion, doesn't mean you have to slander him/her. If you're not the part of the solution, then you are the part of the problem. Let's give peace a chance!!!

Ladybug, I do take your compliments. Besides, I absolutely had no idea you have such vexation towards Sitara.

Monika, forgive and forget their ignorance, for they don't know. If you know what I mean:). And, thanks again.

Sitala dyu, wondering a dictionary, and a thesaurus would be helpful describing the semantics and the metaphor used, that the reader can apprehend? hehehe;)

Folk, have a great weekend!!!!!

PEACE!!!

Nepe Posted on 29-May-04 07:42 PM

A superb poem !

Beautifully rhythmic (stuff very rarely found in modern prose-poetry), meticulously detailed (against blanket condemnation), each point presented with a razor sharp reasoning (stuff again rarely expected in poetry) and overall a captivating rebellion against hypocrisy and chicanery.

Yet I feel this poem is only half-finished. This is only 'what I don't want' part. Now, the next 'what I want' part would make it a complete declaration of the bold and meticulous.

That will be really wonderful, Soleil.
Nepe Posted on 29-May-04 07:47 PM

*of the bold and the meticulous*
LadyBug Posted on 02-Jun-04 08:59 AM

dear Soleil,

you have a very valid point to make. you go brother!

about the vexation part - i found out one thing: when u loose respect for a sista or any brotha for that matter, its really hard to have things normal again, i just hope i dont cross the slammin' slandering folks' path EVER. however as omnipresent as i am, it might be hard for them to avoid me....you are smart, i am sure you got the point. :)

they will find me in sajha, under the rock, on flowers, everywhere - you name it.

monika dear - like i said, true sistas would know the joy of sisterhood - so you would not.
how pitiful, even though deceiving names could make one assume you could be sonika's sis. never mind girlie.......go your own way, i was just asking you to leave her and her vocabulary ALone, i mean undisturbed. you could do that much easy can't ya?
phew....these people with "super-bombastic" words and attitudes, what's up with'em?

by the way - you must know about the chill pill as you are prolly prescribed to take it, i dont' need to!
Sonika_NY Posted on 02-Jun-04 06:41 PM

Ladybug How're you doing girlfriend? I was so busy with parties and exclusive dinners that I ignored low life people here. Thats right , leave me way of life alone and you all get life
