English international striker Alan Smith has joined Manchester United FC from relegated Leeds United AFC in a transfer worth a reported \'807m. Now, Alan Smith has become the latest Leeds United star to cross the Pennines and pledge his allegiance to the sworn enemy - Manchester United. In current Manchester United squad, Dutch marksman Ruud van Nistelrooy is the undoubted first-choice striker for Sir Alex Ferguson, while the Scot also has Louis Saha, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Diego Forlan at his disposal. Saha has hit the target regularly since his move north from Fulham and will provide stiff competition for Smith. Smith, though, is ready to fight off the challenge to take a place in the star-studded Old Trafford team. Smith, van Nistelrooy and Saha will be competing for two spots or even one place depending on which formation Ferguson persists with, plus there could still be the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Diego Forlan and David Bellion pushing for striking slots depending on the extent of any summer selling. Will he (Alan Smith) able to compete and gain his regular place in Manchester United squad??

what a traitor… football ko lagi?? to win more medals??? I think there were loads of other clubs out there who wanted to sign him as well.. clubs who could provide European Competitions… and have the potential to win cups and medals.. and he had to go to Man Yoo… dun mind me, i dun have anything against the club.. juz that.. urrghh.. loyalty ain’t ard these days in football.. guess that badge kissing thingy of his was just a farce used to smokescreen his move.. dun think the Leeds fans would be that forgiving him though.. God Bless him…!!

Alan Smith has a lot of potential. His signing with MAN U will boost the front section of the offense (esp. the bench) for Sir Alex Furgerson's team. I am not much excited about SMith's signing with the Red Devils even though he is a good striker. I am expecting MAN U to bring in more quality players in the Midfield area where Juan Sebasitan Veron and David Beckham (the other prince of Britain) had been badly missed this gone season. Hopefully, Rio Ferdinand will be able to play the best of his football games in the coming seasons. everything else is in balance. Congrats to THE GUNNErs and their fans. Jai Nepal
