700 civilians abducted in Dailekh
Maoists Monday afternoon abducted over 700 teachers, students and parents from Bijaya Higher Secondary School of Dailekh district in west Nepal, radio reports said Tuesday afternoon.
They were abducted while they were participating a function in the school, the reports said. The whereabouts of the abductees and the reason behind the abduction were not known.
The Chief District Officer of Dailekh, Rishikesh Niraula has confirmed the abduction. nepalnews.com pd May24 04
