Jyapoos..in short...Jyaps!!....are Maharjan, Dangol, Singh (of course, newar Singh), Awale...with distinct own culture, festivals...with popular Haku-Patasi female dress....typical inhabitants of the Valley (Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur) ....are real Newars ...much like other Newars such as Joosis (Newar Joshi...), Barmus (Newar Sharma..., Shyoshas (Shrestha, Pradhan...), Bares (Shakya, Bajracharya Gubhaju..), Sayemis (Manandhar....), Tamos (Tamrakar...), Gathus (Malakar....Fluorists), Kaus (Nakarmi...Metalsmiths), Nayes (Kasai...Butchers), Po:s (Kuchikar...Sweepers/Cleaners), Naus (Hair/Nail cutters)......unlike Khe:s (Parbate...Pahadko Manchhe) & Marsyas (Madhesi...Madhesko manchhe) who are no-newars!!!!
So Pushkar Samarthak jyu, how can u be so dumb about newars??? and be broad minded as well????

This is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard that Jyapus are the only "real newars" of KTM Valley and Pradhan, Joshi, Kansakar and etc etc are not. Are you saying that except for Jyapus, others are half-assed Newar? Are you saying that illustrious Newar Kings (Malla) were not real Newars who ruled KTM Valley for centuries? I do not know where you got all these half baked information from. I would really like to see sources to back up your statement.
I fall under "not real newar" catagory you just formulated and I really find this offensive when some one says that my subcaste falls under "half assed newar" catagory because I am very proud of being a Newar. I know this for fact that my family tree goes way back before Malla Kings era and my anchestor always lived in Kathmandu Valley and I am just wondering how come I am not real newar while my family tradition is one of the most conservative Newari tradition.
Care to post sources too?

I am sure there are many more newars than posted above and s_ita's ..... means etc. etc. and there is no real and half assed newars. All are equal, all are ultimately Nepali.
