I am dismayed at the re-appointment of Deuba as PM by the King. The king had fired Deuba 20 months back on the charges of being inept and not being able to hold the elections. What qualities have grown on him since then that king had to rehire him? I believe in giving a second chance in some exceptional cases but not the third and fourth when they have messed things up badly the first and second time. The big problem in our country is that the same people who brought the country on the verge of a failed state are recycled and brought to power again and again. According to some, the King and his henchmen are afraid that the former Ministers, powerful bureaucrats, army generals and Prime Ministers know too much about whom has how much money hidden where in country and abroad. They are always kept on the tenterhooks so that they would always hope to be renominated or appointed to some posts some day and finally take the secrets to their graves. When will the democracy come to Nepal? I have no grudge against Deuba. He is no better than Bhattarai, Koirala or undemocratically appointed Thapa and Chand. However, I felt the King was right when he fired Deuba calling him inept, and thought the King was going to show the right path to lead. It now only proves the conviction held by many that the King is INEPT too. Deuba is the person who gave a pension to the MPs and the pajero as a bribe. Deuba is the one who packed his cabinet with corrupt ministers. Deuba is the one who constructed a palatial house at the Narayanthan. Deuba is the one who liked to frequent on useless junket foreign tours. He made the country poorer and poorer. He should have been in the list of CIAA. Just because he did it cleverly should not mean that CIAA should not look for the source of his unknown income. Now the question is shouldn't the person who fired Deuba calling inept should be fired in turn? Deuba's sacking, and subsequently appointment of two prime ministers and their sacking and then rehiring of Deuba only proves that the King has a total disregard of the people's wishes. The process and hype about the appointment of the PM has shown that the King does not have any respect for democracy. Could the king not have found anyone better than inept Deuba among 23 million people? What is the compulsion under which the king had to reappoint the same Deuba again? It is real unfortunate that Koirala and MadhavNepal were quarrelling each other about whom to become the PM. The main issue in Nepal is not the PM. The King was unnecessarily making the appointment of a PM as a big issue. It is also unfortunate that, instead of focusing on how to solve the country's biggest problems, the greedy politicians are again vying for the ministerial positions within Deuba's cabinet. My view is that the King should have formed a small cabinet with one of the sitting judges in the chair with the sole purpose of holding the elections. All those tainted politicians should not have been in the cabinet. We lost so much of time during the inept handling of Chand and Thapa governments. It is the politicians like of Koirala, MaKuNe, Oli, Bhattarai, Thapa, Chand, RDevkota, RanaBhat, Pashupati Rana, Lohani, Shilaja, NarayanSing Pun, Kuber Sharma, Khum Bahadur, Vijay Gachhadar, Govinda Joshi, and (the one of the most corrupt fellows from Gorkha whose name escapes my mind now) and too many to name here --- the country is poorer and poorer. It is because they kept getting third and fourth chances that they kept messing up the country's economy and thus invited the Maoists that led to killings of so many in both sides. Had Thapa been a good leader the first two times, we would not have faced the Maoists problems today. Had Deuba handled it properly the second time, we would not have to face such a situation now. Why give such a person the third and fourth chance again. I have no hope in Deuba. If he really wants to begin in a good note, -Will he starts by declaring his wealth publicly and asking the same to his ministers? -Will he initiate an investigation on the Royal Palace as to why the King raised the yearly allowances from 8 crore to 80 some crore when the parliament was not in session when millions of children are dying due to lack of medicines and food? Do we have a leader in Nepal who has a vision? Can the power hungry and rotten leaders, Koirala and Bhattarai, Thapa and Chand, MaKuNe and Oli/Bamdev, Shailaja and RanaBhata, type of the leaders retire and leave the country in peace? One thing that the Nepali janata will agree with the King that Deuba simply does not have the ability to govern. Where are the intellectuals and press people? They are either silent like the people petrified following the kot or busy in sharing the loot. Where is the democracy? Is it sold to the King? I think the King's recent actions only push us closer to a republican state. May god give our leaders the leadership vision, instead of the night vision helicopter and goggles?

If there is someone who is smart enough to get involved in the politics, do a better justice to the peple, and set out a really great example for the future politicians s/he should get into the field for the welbeing of the citizens. Otherwise, Nepal's political activists have been able to that much only, I mean what have so far been achieved. Among those who are already fighting for the political survival, I think, Deubaji is a fair candidate for the PM's post. I guess only those who are actually involved in the politics know the actual issues behind the political failures. I cannot hate them for the deficacies, because there are several serious problems facing the politicians. One of the problems is that a majority of the Nepalese citizens do not know how they can have a good government. They do not know their own political power, and their common problem is lack of education and knowledge.
