After a great weekend (Meeting Mr. Pushkar Shah was the highlight) I logged on and I see Mr. Robind Pandey defending something I wrote on the past. Curious, I went back to see what happened between Friday and Today and voila! I see Mr. Hari Basnyet’s posting and his supporters’s agreement.

I am touched the way Mr. Pandey and Reetu (those are the only names come to my mind right now) felt they needed to defend me/my views although they don’t know me personally. I thank you. I am sitting here and wondering should I really need to “defend” myself and Reetu urged me to? Well, I opted for clarifying just teeny tiny fact about my last posting - What I said if there are people who feel restaurant owners are exploiting them should get together and find a solution. And I will be there to do help if it is within my reach. The key here is to IF you feel that way then let’s find a solution. That implies IF you are not then good for you. That was all. What is so difficult about this sentence? Where did this idea come from that I was “dictating my view” how people should live? I was not trying to be elitist. Now, Mr. Basnet and all those names with pluses at the end, if you know what “bitch” is then it is fair to assume you know what is an ELITIST VIEW is, no? I am really sorry your fragile sensiblity was hurt due to some misunderstanding.

Last note: This Saturday I went to one of the busiest restaurants in Cambridge where almost all the wait staff are Nepali. I managed to talk to few of them. Now hold your breath! They all seem to be happy about what they are doing. A Constant source of income and the lure of permanent residency. Some of them were even working for SEVEN DAYS and STILL HAPPY. So I rest my case. Koko, after all you started this saga with a good intention, let’s spend our energy on a different cause, shall we? And if the by-product of our yakking is getting smeared on this site, so be it! I write for my enjoyment, think for the nourishment of soul and act when it fancies me. Rest - just a mild amusement.

Love Posted on 21-Aug-01 06:36 PM

Which Indian resturant did u go to!!? in cambridge. Was it Tanjore and what all people did you meet?
namita Posted on 22-Aug-01 09:27 AM

The restaurant was Bombay Club in Harvard Square.

What do I do? Well, I spend some time in this site besides doing my nine-to-five job for a non profit organization. You know helping people to find cancer and all that nobel heart-rendering causes!!!

Thanks for your realization and penitence regarding the issue of restaurant jobs or workers. Defense for humanity and its dignity needed in Nepal for the imprisoned children.

God bless all the being left out children in Nepal.
