Hello everyone... I needed some suggestions regarding visiting nepal.. I've been here since august 2001 as a student... I was in a private college for a year then i transferred to State University.. I will be graduating in May 2005... So i was thinking of going back to nepal at the end of this summer or maybe during christmas time... but the problem is my visa expired in July 2002.. and i'm very worried that if i go back they won't issue me visa for my new college so.. i'm in dilemma whether to visit of not... any suggestions you guys that might help me secure more chances to get visa so that i can be back? I would really appreciate any kind of suggestions :)

hi Kq21...don't worry too much...make plan to go home but make sure to take every single documents with you from your up-to-date school transcript, ur financial documents ( like any scholarships, grants you have secured or the copy of ur history of being able to payoff ur tutions) and get a letter from ur international advisor and a registar..... i don't know wat the embassy looks for but hand them enough documents for their ready references......i went home two years back, i had to re-apply for visa as it was expired but i had no problem getting it again......and recently, my fren went home and she had no problem renewing her visa.....just make sure to take every single documents, it doesnot hurt whether they need it or not......u should be fine....

don't worry. just take all your papers: I-20, letter from your advisor, international student advisor, a letter from registrar saying that you have been pre-registered for the coming semester (imp). actually all these documents might not even be necessary. Just I-20 should be enough. But I hope that you've been in status so far.. I mean no skipping semester, or a part-time student... don't worry man.
