Any CPAs, or potential-in-action, in this Sajhasthan? I was wondering if some one could help me identify resources that would maximize my potential in passing the computer based CPA test. Thanks. |

Sparsha, Bekers CPA review is the best out there. I'd suggest you to take this review class as you've been out of college for 8 years? Hope that helps |

I am preparing for it too.I took the computer based sample test which was offered by AICPA at our school a few months ago(for testing purpose,I guess).I agree that Baker's course/guide is good. There are many in the market. In most cases, you need to study the original materials. |

thanks, all. llcoola, sounds like you know me in certain extent. "I'd suggest you to take this review class as you've been out of college for 8 years? " Actually, just last year I completed my M.S. in Accounting. So, I am not out of college for 8 years ni ta. llcoola, DP, and Suruchi, I was about to purchase cpa review textbooks from Bisk. So, I wanted to see if people out there have any experience with Bisk materials. |

My Accounting firm which is one of the largest regional firm uses bisk material for cpe courses ( not cpa ) . I have read those time and often . I like them . The most important point to know to pass the cpa exam is to know the subject matter in and out Prepare with full dedication and give it your best. I revised the becker materials at least 3 times and that really helped me pass the exam. Suruchi , cpa |

Sparsha, Good to know that you are now in accounting from Finance. Bisk material is good too but but I preffered Beckers especially after when they bought convisor duffy. I don't want to disclose myself but yes, you know me from good ole bama days. |

llcoola, I wonder who you are. Good ole Bama- the beautiful days, huh? You know, since you mentioned Bama, your name triggers the same name every time I try to read you handle. What name? you remember the fall where once Gadsden hosted a gathering for Nepalis living in the region, don't you? NACCALULA, of course. Yeah, I moved to M.S. in Accounting from B.S. in Finance. That beckers stuff are more expensive compare to bisk materials. They (beckers) ask little more than $2,200 for the package. Anyway, I have not decided whom to go with but I am seriously considering beckers as well. I hope I can pass the exam. Thanks for response. Suruchi, thank you for suggestion. Suruchi, and llcoola : Do you mind if I show up with specific questions in your inboxes -once in a while? |

Sparsha, Does the $2200 include classes as well or just for the materials? Actually, the nicest thing would be to take review classes from the local universities. They have their own materials and are often designed for their own students. I thinnk you'll get in under $1500 for the weekend classes as well as good materials. They also have mid term and other quizes for you to get more confidence. Feel free to email me with any questions P.S> How could I forget NACCALULA Falls? |

llcoola, You even knew Joe worked at Sam's club, huh? llcoola, do you remember that spring break trip to New Orleans, and panama city beach? One of the best memories I have cherished from deep south. Joe, Sounds like you came to the university after I left the friendliest campus in the south. I don't remember anyone else with finance major when I was there. We were only five nepalis there when I joined the Jax. Later, party house pretty much defined us, although I used to live in one of the dorms. Good old days, indeed. I heard that the Nepali student community grew pretty rapidly there- after my departure,. Hey joe, Dr. Brown was a cool finance professor. Don't you think? Was Fielding still the Dean of CCBA when you were there? I enjoyed professors like Padgham, Brown, McCormick, McCarty, and many more. I miss those days. Taxman, we are a group. Are we not? |

Sparsha, you talking about the trip to watch SOCCER GAME IN tAXES? If there is anything that I want to forget about Jax state, would be Mc cormick, that SOB gave me a B, Altough I begged and Deserve an A. I would have graduated ith magnum cum laude but didn't because of that mofo. C'on man, I am down to earth now and I don't really care because I am probally #2 now iin the history of Jsu to obtain a great carrer after Mr. Parker( atleast that I know of) |

I never worked in Sams Club but I know who worked over there. He was senior to me. When I was freshmen, there were as many as 20 nepalese around but by the time I graduated there were only 2 left. I guess everyone moved to bigger and better place. Of Course, tuition went sky rocketed. And yeah they did drop that "friendliest campus in south" punch line. When I graduated, Mr. Padgham was still there kicking some ass in Fin 441 and Fin 474. Dr. Parker was still there but i didn't have to take his class. I guess Brown was also gone when I was in senior year. Yeh McCarty was there. Remember Dr Trivoli ? Fielding was still Dean of CCBA. Indeed. good ole' days . One good news is that Game Cocks was Ohio Valley Conference Champion last year. They moved to OVC from SouthLand football program.. Go Game Cocks.. Sparhsa..there are only 4 nepalese graduated with a finance degree from JSU. I think you were the pioneer and other one was the guy who went to work for Sam's Club and other one went to Minnesota and 4th and the last one is me. LLCOOLA ..glad that you are having an awesome career. Way to go dude. BTW, how is your big Brother.I ended up doing Payroll for a southern company. One good news is that Game Cocks was Ohio Valley Conference Champion last year. They moved to OVC from SouthLand football program.. Go Game Cocks.. |

McCormick rarely got appreciated, I guess. He was tough, I know. He also got me, almost. I am proud of my achievement, there at JSU. My record, with which I graduated, can never be broken. I did maintain the same unbeatable record when I graduated with M.S. in Accounting last year. But llcoola, I am also quite pleased to learn about your success. Wish you an outstanding future. And Joe, good to know that you are doing fine and please know that my best wishes are with you. |

I a univ. student from canada and i had a question about m.s in Acct in the states, is that required if you wanted to obtain a CPA , and what's better? having a masters in ACcounting or CPA ? is it only for credibility sake? thankss |

JB, It depends what you wanna be when you grow up. If you're planning to work as a public accountant then CPA is a must, otherwise, I really don't think it matters. Your experience and skill is what counts. I would recomend you to get both if you can. |

(I apologize for my ignorance of US geography but I have never heard of a state by the name of Jax, please enlighten me!) Thanks Check the following link: - http://mfco.com/mfco/employment.html |

LLCOOLA, is it a tax free state or perhaps home of tax shelter. Taxman would love to go settle down there. If my geography is right, Jax state is right between up-state and mid-state. |
