Look at the action of Maoists, who claim to defend "sarbahara" or sarba sadharan janata, and decide how "jana" friendly they appear. What the hell they punished the "poor" people for? Why couldn't they punish the so called "landlords" instead? Maoists' actions such as this, below, disgust me. I don't understand what they are protesting against and what are they defending or fighting for? When they talk about Jana sarkar? whose sarkar are they talking about? Rebels crush legs of eight dalits in Achham The Maoists have crushed the legs of eight dalits in Thalsa VDC in Achham on Monday. The dalits were incapacitated as a punishment for continuing to work for landlords. According to reports, the rebels took the dalits to the playground of Pashupati Secondary School and then hammered their lower limbs causing permanent injures. Moreover, the rebels have issued a notice threatening the locals with a similar fate if they assist the dalits. nepalnews.com pd June 22 04

Yes, that's quite an irrational action by the Maoists. Aren't they supposed to punish the landlords rather than the dalits? Yeah, I know they don't want to touch the landlords, coz they need them for the money!!! Same theory goes with killing of policemens rather than the netas. Coz Netas are lucrative source for Maoists funding.

I agree with you fellows except for one point, punishing land lords. I do not think most of the land lords are bad. But thing here is we need change. As far as maoist are concerned, they will never be successful as they are targeting the general public. I do even think their ideology is right assuming they are fighting. Communism gives too much power to the few top people. So, it will like from one Gyane to another or from girija to madhave o rSheru. No differnce at all. Just for self interest

Highfly: I am not saying all landlords are to be punished. I am not sure if I can support your "I do not think most of the land lords are bad" statement but I can certainly accept the fact that not all landlords are bad. My point is Maoists are trying to destroy what/who they claim they represent. Garib dalitharuko khutta bhachera ke hunchha? usaita dukha ko jiwan bachna sangharsha gari raheka dukhiharu ko khutta bhachi diye pachhi uniharuko ra uniharuka pariwarharuko kun gati hunchha? The maoists should have considered landlords in explaining their position. I think Maoists wrongly indentified the cause for punishment in this sad incidence. Ke bhanya hola bhane jamindarpatti lagya sagya tha chhaina, hampatti nalagya bhera khutta bhachya ho.

Maoists have to really think for whom they are carrying out this revolution. Whoever fights with the monsters should see to it that in the process they do not themselves become monsters. (Nietzsche). But that's exactly what's happening with Maoists in Nepal.
