Your domain will ofcourse become one of the important portal in future, provided you have some important features: 1. Privacy. Whether your purpose (hidden agenda) is to steal password, at least to leak some user's info. It needs dedication and power of will. In any circumstances, you should stand up right and be bold. 2. Anti-spam. 3. Don't become yourself a judge, but, act like a god whenever required, fire the bad guys, ban them. 4. Don't indulge yourself in public discussions, once you start involving yourself in public discussions, you might end up editing other's stuff to justify your writings and play foul games. 5. copy style: formats from good sites, e.g. Sajha.com Remember to avoid 100% copy, restricted by law and it will be troubling when you are grown up fat boy. 6. Don't use too much colors and advertisements. Downloading pictures and ad banner is usually hated by users. So, try to keep a database of users and put relevant ads so that the user enjoys. As all website keep track of users, you can also keep what and which ad banner is used by which user. Google.com is doing this kind of ads whenever who type keywords for search, that is not annoying, but, plus points to user and also to adv. companies. 7. No racial slurrs. Protect minorities. Remember the Janet Jackson scandal: 15min fame and peoples like Jackson. These are the peoples who snatched the right of others: to see live program, now forced to delay at least a few 10s of seconds if not minute. The conservatives will be sword who will sacrifice your site, and there are gender issues too. 8. Becareful of one liners. They are good in making your site alive, but, useless in real contents. These oneliners may high jack your forum and turn it a chat room. 9. Let users have some special sections : of special interests , so that its easy to search. Try to include main links e.g. kol, nepalnews .... 10. Be friendly, humble with users: users are your gahana and assets. 11. Cheap hosting company might be damaging who will dare to spend minutes to download texts and pictures. 12. Invite branded peoples here for discussions. Well, Prem Charo listed some branded users in this Sajha.com forum and he tells that Sajha.com is missing them. You should have some brands there so that readers don't quit. A NEPY |

Dear Mr. NEPY or GP or whatever, Firstly, you seem to have multiple personality disorder syndrome and I advise to you visit doctor ASAP. Secondly, I dont understand what you are trying to prove here with you PhD expertise. This forum has been operating since last few months and these are the same people who are behind cybernepal.com.np. I am sure that they know their job quite well. Why don't you use your time for something constructive then posting such a useless and faltu crap. Otherwise people have already started questioning your degree which seems logical to me. Not to be disrespectful to sajha but I think it's good that there are many other Nepali Forums which are being created. It's good to have a change of scenario. Maybe there are few things that the other forums can learn from sajha, and vice versa. |

Oops! K Garne! FORUM.COM.NP needs a lot of upgrade to compete it with Sajha.com At least now, FORUM.COM.NP can not beat San's Sajha.com. As a regular sajha.com user, I do not see FORUM.COM.NP charismatic enough to pull/distract /attract more visitors from Sajha.com If they follow some footsteps of Sajha.com, that I outlined in my previous postings, there can be possibility that the name "FORUM" may pull new visitors, will need a lot of effort to switch Sajha.com visitors to FORUM.com.np One of the most important reason Sajha.com will not be drained out is because its gbnc.org's masked website for public use. Other reason is it does not have bulky ad banner, third reason is Sajha.com is partly run by the donation from Sajha.com visitors, and why peoples donate? Because Sajha.com was able to give them some satisfaction of being their own? So, a profit based website needs much more effort than a non profit website. Lets not forget the "almost death" of eNepal.com which was so much popular and better than gbnc.org longtime before the birth of Sajha.com. Once Kunga left it (sold it?), then, all most all users moved probably to Sajha.com. Well, my best wishes to FORUM.com.np NEPY |
