Thanks to Deuba who has chosen to get down on his knees before the Maoists and shout "yes, Master Prachanda"

from THE TIMES OF INDIA
Blowing east across the Hindu Kush, it appears, the Taliban mindset has acquired a coat of Maoist red in Hindu Nepal. Assuming the role of 'Thought Police', arguably in the Taliban mould, the Maoists are said to be enforcing a moral code of conduct in Nepal.

The Maoists are also enforcing a dress code. Skimpy western dresses are now out. Some girls who ventured out in mini skirts at Biratnagar were reportedly humiliated. Editor of Arth Jagat, Manoj Upadhyaya, says: "Mini skirts are not part of our culture."

"The Maoist movement against widespread alcohol abuse and proliferation of western fashion wear is the result of persistent demands from their women's wing," Yubraj Ghimire, editor of Kantipur, largest selling Nepali daily, told The Times of India on phone from Kathmandu.

Maoists reportedly deny being influenced by the Taliban. The impression gaining ground, however, is quite the opposite.
