I am student majoring in Computing and have great interest doing some project work in the GIS field. I have competence in doing resouce analysis using Arcview and Arc/Info software, making maps, GPSing (basically can do jobs related to GIS cartographer's role). Does anyone have specialised contacts in this area? Or if someone can give me some guidence as to where I can apply. I am aware that there are major opportunities in this area in states.I would be very much interested in hearing from you.

Thank you so much for the reply!! I am in New Zealand and a citizen here. At this stage am desparetly looking for some work experience specially project work. I have done some good inclass project using ArcInfo and Arcview software. What are the names of the companies wanting GIS specialist? I am interested in doing projects related to natural resource management. Are there any opportunities arising in the near future? Do inform me!!
