Finally the Moists leaders and their supporters are able to have open conventions in the capital, with a huge support from people.. Now that they are not terrorists anymore, are we heading for Communist Republic very soon?

Give Deuba a break. At least he has been able to bring the warriors to the negotiating table. No mean feat in itself. It's unrealistic to expect such a deep-seated insurgency to resolve easily. Look at IRA, the Palestininain problem, LTTE...One may say they aren't any parallels. But this much is clear from all violent resistances: it takes enormous will on every party's part to keep on open mind. Only then is compromise possible. It will take a lot of will on the part of our ever-warring political leaders to sit on one side and talk with Maoists. And reform measures are going to test our will as a people too. All of us will have to make little sacrifices - for eg, by way of giving up parts of our parental properties, while others may even have to give up their own hard earned property. Sweeping reforms may require other demanding compromises. Let's give peace a chance. Can't expect Deuba to please all the people all the time. I wish him luck. At least we have someone who is willing to take risks. I only hope his reform measures are genuine; and equally important, Maoists, for their part, are flexible too.

The end of constitutional monarchy and imposition of communist rule is a Maoist dream that will never be realized. If they insist on the government to fulfill all of their demands, then another round of war is inevitable. And this time, the government will have the full support of the monarch, other political parties and a large section of the Nepalese people to use whatever force it is necessary to put down their bloody revolt. We are the people of Nepal, not only the Maoists and their supporters, and our voices must also be heard. We want the preservation of multi-party democracy. Democracy will survive.

If people like Paras wait in line to ascend to throne, may be constitutional monarchy will simply be washed away like the section of Prithvi Rajmarga in the fall. The bojo can't hold the country together. Just an observation.
