Answer: Maoist = Human Rightists or vice versa. Honest write ups After reading a long succession of articles in The Kathmandu Post by Nepali writers and politicians that grovel to the Maoist ego, it was very refreshing and informing to read Vijay Kumar Sigdelfs article titled "Stop terrorism or face annihilation" (14/8/2001) and Puran P Bistafs "Facts, not fiction" (13/8/2001) have shown their intellectual honesty and mettle by calling a spade a spade, a terrorist a terrorist. Their analysis rests on firm democratic principles, and not on shameless opportunism and dishonesty that is sadly prevalent in Nepali intellectuals and self-styled human right messiahs who cry foul when the Maoists are cornered, but turn a blind eye when hundred of innocent people and policemen are being butchered by the rebels. The Kathmandu Post should give more space to the intellectually honest and sincere writing rather than just the panderings of opportunism. Mahesh Singh Bunkerhill, USA

While the Deuba government sleeps and dreams of a peaceful solution to the Maoist problem, the Maoists resort to intimidation, extortion and terrorism. This has pushed the country to the brink of disaster. Now it is time for the government to act tough, and use whatever force necessary to put the terrorists down once and for all. Carry a big stick (and use it whenever necessary) and talk softly, as the saying goes.

These definition only applies to the Nepali parties. Maoism = "Kill poor people and people you hate and make is political." Communisim = "Find all the possibilities to bring the opponent ruling parities down. Make money as much as you can when you get a chance to rule the govenment. Nepal UML is the party of those people who did not get any opportunities in Nepali Congress." Nepali Congress = "Fake sojo nepali jantas in the name of democracy and make money as much as possible. Briber is the open policy."
