King Gyanendra waited for long time to defend himself, while communist punks
attacked him all the time. It is now necessary to understand that Gyanendra is
different from Paras.

Two comments I loved from the king:

>"The King's property is national property. I do not see any reason to nationalize
>them," the King said. Some communists have called for nationalization of King
>Birendra's property.

Nobody really cares whether king Gyanendra inherits King Birendra's property or
not. It is his family right.

>"After assuming the throne I have no business interests. They have been
>handed over. Those businesses have been paying tax," the King said in reply to
>another question

Now how many leaders can say that?

not. It is his family right.>

Dear Dumdum:

I do, for one, very deeply care to know how much property King Birendra has left behind and where does it go.

As someone suggested, why not establish King Birendra Trust. A just distribution of wealth should as a matter of fact be King Gyanendra's utomost concern at this point of time, given the inroads Maoists have made (in the name of) championing social reforms.

Don't forget, this family has left behind a huge, huge amount of property - both in terms of real easte holdings, and overseas desposits. Queen Aishwarya is believed to have collected hefty "donations" when she had monopoly over NGOs before 1990. Add to that King Birendra's own substantial inheritance. And we are here talking about billions and billions of rupees enough to set up a top-class university, or hospital.

King Birendra deserves a lasting legacy. Let King Gyanendra realize that.
