On the 21st. of this month, between 300,000-500,000 Maoist and their
supporters will hold a rally and march in Kathmandu.
If this happens it will be the biggest assembly in the existence of
Nepal, even larger than that after the "Democracy Victory"(sic) in 1990.
My question is this: If they come, and decide to take the Capital by
force, who can stop them? If they come, and don't leave they will have
occupied Kathmandu, and their Peoples Republic will be formed on that day.
I am sure that many will dismiss this posting, as they have dismissed
the Maoist and the possibility of the Peoples War being successful,
but I would suggest.... wake up and smell the chi.
Namaste, Aloha, Michael

If Maoists have 5,00,000 dedicated activists, won't they be fighting election rather
than fighting guirilla war?

Don't scare us, dude.

They are forcing villages to come to capital for the mass meeting,
I heard in many villages, from each house atleast one personnel has to come to the meeting or donate money for their activities. it's quite an insecure situation.

I think government should mobolise army and kill all those mao-badis.

This is just a ploy to fill the hotels since there are no tourists and no mountain expeditions. This should restore tourism very nicely.

It's time for the government to take tough measures against the Maoists. Mr. Deuba just cannot afford to sit back and wait for events to unfold. The forces of darkness are on the march and they should be stopped at any cost. The preservation, continuation and development of the democratic system doesn't come without a price. Anybody who carries firearms with intent to kill is not an innocent civilian, he/she is a terrorist and must be dealt with accordingly. The Maoists must have used brute force to terrorise the people into submission. Now it is time for the government to use brute force against them to drive them back to the jungles of Rolpa and Rukum.
